Anime Yins and Yangs

As you may or may not have noticed,there are anime series with a male protagonist and then an almost similar one with a FEMALE protagonist.

Perhaps the following list can explain my point a little better :

Rurouni Kenshin - Tsukikage Ran

Trigun - Grenadier

Great Teacher Onizuka - Gokusen

Every time there is a highly popular series, about a dozen other series steal the concept, only putting a twist on it - and changing the gender of the protagonist is an easy, very popular twist (as fans of Ranma will certainly agree).

I've got one, only it is female to male:

Fushigi Yugi (or equally Escaflowne) -> Kyou Kara Maou

I hate to burst your bubble,Drew,but KKM is hardly the Yang to FY's Yin.The closest thing to being a Yang to FY's Yin would be Koi Koi Seven.
