I've enjoyed Showcase Superman for the silver age madness and liked the 80s New Teen Titans but how do the stories of the Silver Age TTs hold up?
The writing is pretty goofball, with middle aged men trying to write what they thought was "hep" dialog.
The Nick Cardy art on the other hand is simply amazing. And even though there is a certain goofy dumbness to this first volume, it is still well worth picking up.
And I'll tell you this now, when they get to that second volume, don't bother to ask, just go buy it. Because right around issue 20 or so, Teen Titans became one of the best DC book of the late 60's.
Still, those early issues are good fun.

Wow-- I totally agree with everything Rick just said. The book-- and I have it-- is worth getting just for the Nick Cardy art, which looks fantastic in it's original black and white.
That second volume is worth waiting for.

SHOWCASE PRESENTS: TEEN TITANS was like reading a more sincere version of Austin Powers. It's good cheeky fun.

Yep, very nice art with some laughable dialog, but a lot of fun.

I'm wondering whether they'll stick with the Showcase format now instead of doing a Vol. 2 of the Archives.
