I'm not one for heralding an issue before its release, but this is a special occasion. Over on Newsarama they posted this cover for next week's issue:

Bye bye Booster?
Thoughts?

I wouldn't be surprised if the guy in that reflection IS Booster... :p

See, I keep getting this feeling that it is Rip Hunter or Luthor... it's a tough call.

Very plausible. With Booster's public image gone bust, his choices are to a) build himself back up as a true hero, or b) find an even lower level to sink to. Somehow I don't think he's learned his lesson...
Booster's gotten increasingly more fraudulent in his glory-seeking and identity theft would be the next logical next step. At any rate, I don't think he's going to die. There hasn't been enough in his story to warrant an ending.

I think that Booster is going to be Supernova, and the memorial is his 'death' of Booster Gold.

i'm not sure if it's booster. but i wouldn't be surprised if this is just a publicity stunt by booster...but then something goes wrong and he DOES get killed. seems like something 52 would do

But didn't Super Nova appear before Booster's image went down the toilet?
Considering their track record, booster is dead.

Oh, sorry for the confusion. No, I don't think Booster is Supernova (yet). I'm thinking the "last battle" will result in Booster usurping SN's identity.

Oh no no......
I don't mean Booster's masquerading as Supernova.
I mean Booster IS Supernova.
Remember when Booster came back during Infinite Crisis: he seemed more serious......different.....focused......
Maybe that's not the Booster who went into the future after Ted was killed - and that somehow (via the always funky and bendy rules of time travel) the real Booster found out this alternate version came back, returned to the present afterwards and thus dons the Supernova outfit to get away from the other Booster's whorish and self-depreciating antics.

Actually Booster Gold's image was ruined in Week Seven, Supernova debuted the following week, Week Eight.

I wouldn't be surprised if this image was doctored in a humorous fashion and it shows up WITHOUT the "Booster Memorial Issue" banner.
The whole "memorial issue" doesn't match up with the word scrolling at the bottom. They'd probably mention something about Booster's end. I think it's just something Wacker had tossed onto the image to play on people's thoughts.

Just to expand the theory (because I'm bored), I'm thinking Supernova is exactly who he appears to be: some nobody with super-powers who decided to don a costume and make the world a better place. In a confrontation with Booster, he'll die (by accident, hopefully) and Booster, seeing no reason not to, takes the costume and assumes the Supernova identity. He puts SN's disfigured corpse into his uniform, making it appear that it was Booster Gold who died.
Then, maybe, Booster/Supernova will get entangled with Lex Luthor and the metagene program, because he doesn't possess Supernova's teleportation ability. Oh what a tangled web we weave...
Tune in this Wednesday to see how completely wrong I am!

They really are. What's really cool is that you can see the process it takes to make the covers here (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/magazine/wizard/001304624.cfm).
He even dishes a little dirt about the changes that go on behind hte scenes. One thing that stuck out to me is the original color scheme for Supernova.

Those colors remind you of anyone else? And now, Supernova's colors are white, red, blue, and yellow. Interesting dichotomy, don't you think?
