I'm probably missing a ton of people but I think this gets my point across. So how about DC? How about a new Who's Who?

I'd love to see a new Who's Who. I'm a sucker for these kinds of character handbooks.

I'd also hope that DC could put together a better package than Marvel current efforts, which have been a bit lacklustre.

I'd say they're a little overdue :p

I'd rather see them do a few hardcover encyclopedia style handbooks instead of another Who's Who series.

Depends on how it's done. For all its pretty packaging, the ENCYCLOPEDIA's entries were anemic information-wise compared to WHO'S WHO.

I'd like to see a 3rd Who's Who? in the same format as the 2nd, with the hole punches, so they can be taken apart, and grouped in whatever way you want. I found that particularly helpful, when putting together some samples, several years ago. I had all the characters that I wanted to use, in one folder, despite where they may have been grouped previously.

Whatever the format, it is LOOOOONG past due for a new edition.

I agree with the file sheet idea - the Encyclos look good on your coffee table but the content was terrible!

The 2ED files though - wow they were amazing. I think I read every single sheet. The full page shots, the little face shots on the reverse, the versatility of having separate sheets - it was all fantastic. I'm actually surprised something like this has not been done as a web-based resource. It would be a lot easier to keep current in that form.

I would love another WHO'S WHO. Maybe they could do a CD-ROM version as well with a limited ability to update it over the net.

I think a CD-ROM version would be great. A WHO'S WHO would help me out a lot, because I am sort of new to comics, and I would love to find out who everybody is.

Put it on the web.
I'm not that keen on reading books with technical information really.

If they do a book i prefer few hardcover books over single issues like the old Who's who was, Marvel today is puting out to many books, i don't whant to have to buy 20 books for something like this.

Comic companies need to publish a "Who's who" trade every three to five years.

I've been buying Marvel handbook comics, even though some characters have been left out.

They need to publish these types of books in trades.

i think its pretty irrelevant to put out a whos who when you have sites like wikipedia out.

Well, Marvel and DC have their own sites that have information on characters, but it's nice to have the comic or trade.

I'd rather have the comics in my hands with out having to log on all the time.

Guidebooks have devolved quite a bit since the days of WHO'S WHO and the OFFICIAL HANDBOOK OF THE MARVEL UNIVERSE. Marvel and DC's recent attempts at this type of book have been pretty miserable: low in content, high on recycled material. For whatever reason - maybe because we're in the Internet era or because of cost reasons - that's what comic companies think readers want. So I'm not really eager to see WHO'S WHO return. (I did like the DC Encyclopedia, though. You can't beat the sheer quantity of characters who were included. And while most of the entries were skimpy, I appreciated the fact that they were written specifically for the book and not just lifted out of pre-existing material.)

I'd love to see SECRET ORIGINS return, though.

Wikipedia is a horrible, horrible source full of amateurish writing and inaccurate information. Give me a new Who's Who!

The new Marvel Handbooks are very well done, with more content than the original series. The only "recycled" material they use is art, which isn't the case all of the time as new art is commissioned on occasion.

I second that notion, I think marvel should do the same, they've done it before also.
