I just picked up 1-3 and I was kinda pleased with it. The art is vibrant and the dialogue is certainly clever and sharp enough.

What did everyone else think?

I thought the art was terrible, but with issue four I think they're getting a new artist. I liked the story, though, and I'm going to follow it to see how the Tenth Age of Magic is introduced and if it's any different than the last one.

Also, Detective Chimp, Ragman, and Blue Devil are in it! :D

Im actually considering dropping this book. The first three issues felt like just some OYL filler, nothing really to grab onto. I want to like it because I liked the DoV mini so much, but the more I think about it, the more I really only liked that for Captain Marvel and Justiniano.

I'm on the fence about this book too.
But I think I'm going to stick with it for now. It's good enough for me to let it get five-ten issues in the can before I drop it, see if it revs up a bit.

I love Bill Willingham's simple clever storytelling, but I'm really not crazy about his pencils. Also, I think the book needs a little more of a hook to keep my interest. There are a lot of great titles out there vying for my comic book money.

I'm definately picking this one up. Usually a book that gets a lot of bad critism (like this one) means that I'm gonna love it.
:p

I hear the Demon is joining up, so I may give it another chance, but it really needs a much better artist to sway me.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the book. I've been a Willingham fan since his Elementals days, and I love his artwork. Plus the book has Nightshade, who I've been a fan of since the Suicide Squad.

Seriously? That'd be great, 'cause I love Etrigan's character, but I heard he and Blood weren't connected anymore as of the end of his last series, which would make him a full-on demon and, probably, pretty evil. Anyone know if that's right?

I actually dropped this, Omac, Hawkgirl, and Ion after the first issues. If Etrigan is coming in I might come back to it, BD is cool, but the rest of this team is so meh.

Truthfully, I'm more interested in where jason blood ends up, rather than the Demon- i'd like to see blood go back to the JLA.

Yeah. He was like a tame John Constantine. I wouldn't mind seeing his character more, with or without the Demon.

From Day 1 I've said this would be better as a Vertigo title. Either that or as a tongue-in-cheek style cult comic.

Anyway, it isn't bad, but the first story ended too quickly. Willingham established the villains, then had all but two of them dispatched off-panel. That seemed rushed to me.

I'll give it an issue or two more, but I don't see myself getting this book long term.

I haven't read anything in this book that's made me like it, but I loved Day of Vengeance and really believe in Willingham's ability to make these characters work. They were the perfect team of unlikely teammates in DoV, so I'm willing to stick it out with them through one more story arc before giving up. I would like Detective Chimp to go back to his old costume though.

I like this book my only problem is the art other then that I am definatly enjoying it.The characters seem to be well fleshed out, the dialgue between them seems to be kind of funny an entertaining. I will give it another few issues as i am not so sure with everything coming out right now there is something I will find better for space on my pull.I think its a decent enough book an if your on the fence you should at least give it a try.

I haven't heard anything about the Demon showing up and becoming a team member.

That said, it may be a rumor that stems from Willingham saying that the Blue Devil will get an upgrade and become a rhyming demon.

I wasn't too impressed with #4. It was amusing but I guess it was just a filler story.

I got a kick outta of Ish 4. The whole light-hearted day in the life of Blue Devil. It had enough requisite action. The whole Blue Demon/Big Devil/ It's Blue Devil bit was funny. But then again Danny always has been my favorite of the bunch.

i really like this little title and hope that it stays on for a while too.
blue devil is my fav. in the group and kinda has a deadpool humor going for him.
i like the secret six too, wish that it was going to be a reg. title.

This is my favorite new launch spinning from Infinite Crisis (next to Wonder Woman and JLA). The characters are fun and the doppelganger team, Pentacle, have been lots of fun as well.

I enjoyed #4. It was kinda cool to see how a giant Blue Devil can co-exist with normal people. There probably was never enough funding for a Devil-cave or any high tech stuff, so seeing a hero who can't remove his costume living in an apartment was pretty cool. I'm on board for the long haul.

PS - I thought DOV was the weakest of the prelude to IC minis. If only the mini was this good.

Same here!

I've really enjoyed the book a lot as well.

I'm not too familiar with all the characters, but the ones I do know and like are getting a little spotlight now... Ragman especially! Love the character!

I am really enjoying this series so far. It's different from everything else, and I love that the team is made up of lesser known heroes instead of the same predictable six it could have had (Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Madame Xanadu, Dr. Occult, Alan Scott & The Demon for example). I'm a little disappointed that the Demon may be joining, as I have never been a fan, and more importantly, that probably means one of the members will be leaving since IIRC the pact has always had six members. Anyway, here's hoping Shadowpact lasts for years to come! Willingham has proven himself a master storyteller with Fables, and I know the Shadowpact will only get better!

I'm digging it right now. Out of the DC titles I get this one is one of my favorites. I think it's funny, clever, and personally I like the art, the only thing I'd change is showing them in the bar more and thats something they may be showing more of in the future after all it's only up to issue 4.

I'm really on the fence about this book. I like all the characters used in it, but so far that's about it. The story telling has been a little weak so far. The Art as well. I like the characters enough that i'll stick with it for at least another arc or two, but to be honest, i don't see the book lasting. The title has Doomed written all over it. In days gone by DC would have been the perfect home for this quirky little team, but in the modern market i just don't see it selling well, and i just don't see it lasting. I'm not going to, but i almost feel like dropping the title now so i don't have an emotional investment in when it gets canned around issue 18 or 20.

I'm waiting for more occult & supernatural stuff. As well more of this 10th Age of Magic.
