View Full Version : A New Beginning For TEENick!

Well, after a tough year in the ratings (In February, Nickelodeon axed former TEENick show My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, & TEENick lost its post-SpongeBob Monday thru Thursday at 8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central time slot to reruns of All Grown Up. On the bright side, they transferred As Told By Ginger & 6Teen to TEENick's Sunday Night line-up. In June, they not only dropped Ginger & 6Teen, but also All That & The Amanda Show as well. On the bright side, they regained the post-SpongeBob Monday thru Thursday time slot, but at the expense of losing the Saturday night line-up to TV movies & reruns of Nicktoons [I did not see Invasion From Cluster Prime on the line-up, & that is a bummer!])
Now, the TEENick line is starting its Fall season a bit early. They have a new format for the post-SpongeBob Monday thru Thursday time slot. Unlike the past two months, where it had a consistant line-up (Monday=Unfabulous, Tuesday=Zoey 101, Wednesday=Just For Kicks, Thursday=Romeo!), the time slot is now formatted so that each week will have a different show on for all four nights of that week (This week, the featured show is Zoey 101, which was a really evil choice. I would rather see the slots used for showcasing some of the more popular not-quite-commonly shown Nicktoons that fit the format of the line-up, most preferrably My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, since I enjoyed that show!)
Here are my suggestions for potential shows:
*My Life As A Teen-Age Robot
* The Secret World of Alex Mack (I agree that more people would watch this over the likes of Unfabulous!)
* Romeo!
* The Tomorrow People (Another old-timer!)
* The Journey of Allen Strange (Yet another old-timer!)
*Nick News
*Go Healthy Challenge
*Try to license something from someone other than Archie Comics (If you really want to work with Archie, try to option any of the Mighty Crusaders characters, That Wilkin Boy, or even the Conservation Corps! They are all better properties than that loser witch Sabrina, anyway!)
Will TEENick appear on Saturday or Sunday? We will find out soon!

Okay let me throw in my Teen Nick suggestions for programming even though I never watch the thing.
Eerie Indiana- real cool show love it, Goose bumps- ditto, Tales from the cryptkeeper, I remember a show think called Snick that I liked.
Is Nickelodeon also owned by Disney? They need to buy series from other networks than cr@p you can see on tv land.

* Romeo!
"Romeo" is one of the worst shows currently on TV. It's worse than the new "All That" times 10. My lineup:
Alex Mac
Allen Strange
Old All That
Butt Ugly Martains
Ned's Declassified
Spongebob Squarepants
More Old All That

Well, Nickelodeon had a few minor links to Uncle Walt.
Around 1995, the First Kid's Network threw Doug, its creator Jim Jenkens, & his studio Jumbo Pictures to Disney, probably because it did not do well on Nickelodeon.
Around 1999 or 2000, The Disney Company wanted to jettison the slapstick shows that are flooding the weekend morning line-up in order to lauch Jetix. Since Viacom [Nickelodeon's parent company] gave Disney Jumbo Pictures, the Mouse Factory gave Viacom the discarded slapstick stuff, among them the CGI Donkey Kong Country (Based on the then-popular Nintendo video game franchise) & Angela Anaconda (Both of them wound up on Nickelodeon's line-up for a few weeks in 2003 or 2004). Viacom still owns DKC & Angela Anaconda.
This post does not directly relate to TEENick, but it does clear up some confusion!

I am here with something you can go to find out more about TEENick!
But first, I need some opinions about 'Zoey 101': You have to choose from these three choices to judge the quality of the show: Great, Mediocre, or Crap.
My comments on the shows is that it was produced by Dan Schneider [That is a bad thing] & it stars Jamie Lynn Spears [That is an even worse thing]; Schneider is the single worst producer in the history of television. To be honest, when he paired with someone like Anthony Tollin [like on the original 'All That'], he was good. But when he's solo, the shows range from decent [Drake & Josh] to pathetic [Zoey 101]. Also, Jamie Lynn Spears nearly destroyed the 'All That' franchise. To be kind, Viacom hired her bacause she was Britney's little sister. The most notable thing is, this show is completly identical to your typical current Archie comic! Zoey could easily have been Betty Cooper!
Well, here is the resource for TEENick: www.nick.com/teenick
You can probably find out which show will be seen on Monday thru Thursday 8:30 PM (7:30 PM Central) time slot next week!
Tune in later for some e-mail connections!

You will be extremely pissed off at the bad news I am going to tell you: For some dumb reason, Nickelodeon felt that they would keep Zoey 101 on the post-SpongeBob Monday thru Thursday time slot for the forseeable future. BAD MOVE! Zoey 101 is the worst half-hour show since "The Mullets" (You know, the UPN show with Loni Anderson that came on after Smackdown!). To be honest, Zoey 101 did not deserve to be aired in the first place, & I felt TEENick would be better off with an animated show airing on that timeslot, or on their Sunday night line-up, in fact (My two choices: My Life As A Teen-Age Robot & Butt-Ugly Martains!)
More on this later!

Here is the new Sunday line-up, & I am very pissed off at the programming executives for this!
6 PM Eastern (5 PM Central): Drake & Josh (I preferred Kenan & Kel on the line-up instead!)
6:30 PM Eastern (5:30 PM Central): Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (This show sucks. The only way this show can be even remotely likeable is if they KILL COOKE OFF!)
7 PM Eastern (6 PM Central): Romeo! (I like this show!)
7:30 PM Eastern (6:30 PM Central): Unfabulous (Another crap show!)
8 PM Eastern (7 PM Central): Zoey 101
8:30 PM Eastern (7:30 PM Central): Nick News
My main gripe with the Summer line-up has not been corrected: There are no animated shows on any of the TEENick time slots!

Apparently, Nickelodeon is answering your plea. Zoey 101 has lost its Tuesday 8:30 PM (7:30 PM Central) slot to Drake & Josh!
Will TEENick add any animated shows to the line-up in the next few weeks?

I have been corrected! Drake & Josh will replace Zoey 101 as the Monday thru Thursday post-SpongeBob spotlight show! It is a slight improvement. I would rather see an animated show on the time slot [I have two choices: My Life As A Teen-Age Robot & Kappa Mikey!]

There are a few changes in the TEENick line-up in the past few weeks: First, it lost its Monday thru Thursday 8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central time slot early in September to reruns of Danny Phantom [which sucked]. They dropped the dismal Just For Kicks & replaced it with The Amanda Show!
Now, last Sunday night, TEENick has officially started a new season by dumping The Amanda Show in favor of debuting a great new puppet show that is just as good as getting an animated show on the line-up. It also has new seasons of three shows!
6 PM/5 PM Central: Romeo!
6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: Mr. Meaty (This is the new puppet show I am telling you about! The premiere episode is titled Parkerina!)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh (Season Premiere!)
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (New Season! I hope the season ends with someone KILLING COOKE OFF!)
8 PM/7 PM Central: Zoey 101 (Season Premeire! The highlight of this episode is a genuine schoolyard bareknuckle BOXING MATCH!)
8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Unfabulous
Do you like this new season's line-up!
J.A.P.
Jeremy A. Patterson
10-04-2006, 11:30 AM
Well, just one week after debuting a new line-up, TEENick has decided to change it:
6 PM/5 PM Central: Zoey 101 (Who really wants to drop a decent show like Romeo! to make room for a really crappy show like this? This show sucks, Dan Schneider sucks, & JAMIE LYNN SPEARS SUCKS!!!!!!!!)
6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: Mr. Meaty (At least they kept this truly great show! The episodes shown here are 'Ashley Sausage-Nose' [with acne & plastic surgery jokes] & 'Wedgelor' [with wedgie material]!)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (The only way that I will enjoy this show is when they KILL COOKE OFF!!!!!!)
8 PM/7 PM CEntral: Zoey 101 (For some reason, TEENick thinks this OVEREXPOSED piece of trash is worth placing on the line-up, but they feel that the far-superior My Life As A Teen-Age Robot is not cool enough for the line-up! We would rather want to watch My Life As A Teen-Age Robot instead!)
8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Nick News (This great show is BACK!!!)
Good News:
Nick News is back!
Bad news:
Romeo is dropped!
They give more slots to Zoey 101!
They dropped the interview segments!
The commercials are devolving to be more kiddie, more bottom-rung Post cereal commercials!
Did they change the line-up for better, or for worse?

I liked 'Aarrr! Real Monsters' but that had, what, one season? And I can't believe that 'Doug' didn't do well. I didn't know that was why it was shoved to Disney.

Good News: TEENick will add two new shows to the line-up in January.
Bad News: Both of them [Naked Brother Band & Just Jordan] are more of the live-action Archie-style garbage that they are giving us so far this season!
Let's tell Nickelodeon to add an animated show to the line-up instead of more Zoey 101-style garbage!

Here is the line-up for Octoer 22, 2006:
6 PM/5 PM Central: Romeo! (It is Back!!!!!!!!!)
6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: Mr. Meaty (This great show is the best TEENick show since My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, & I am glad that it is back!)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (The only way this show is going to be marginally good is when they KILL COOKIE OFF!!!!!)
8 PM/7:30 PM Central: Zoey 101
8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Unfabulous
The Good News:
Romeo! & Mr. Meaty are back!!!!!!!!
The Bad News:
There is a preview of the awful Naked Brothers Band! The NBB is the worst fictional band since both The New Monkees AND Milli Vanilli! It is the worst TEENick show since Just For Kicks, & it may very well be the worst overall Nickelodeon show since Super Duper Sumos!!!

Here is the line-up for October 29, 2006:
6 PM/5 PM Central: Zoey 101 (Romeo! is a much better show this this garbage, because Zoey 101 sucks, Dan Schneider sucks, & JAMIE LYNN SPEARS SUCKS!!!!)
6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: Drake & Josh (It may be decent, but Mr. Meaty is a better show!)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh (Another episode of this overexposed show. I would rather take Kenan & Kel over this!)
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (The only way this show can get even remotely watchable is when they KILL COOKIE OFF!)
8 PM/7 PM Central: Zoey 101 (This overexposed show SUCKS!!)
8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Unfabulous
There are no good news!
The bad news:
Romeo is dropped
Mr. Meaty is dropped
They overexpose two shows
There is another preview of Naked Brothers Band. This is the worst TEENick show since Just For Kicks, AND it may very well be the worst overall Nickelodeon show since both Super Duper Sumos AND All Grown Up! All of you can help me tell TEENick to drop NBB & replace it with the far-superior My Life As A Teen-Age Robot by sending an e-mail to the Editor of Nickelodeon Magazine at: NickEditor@nick.com . There are good news: TEENick is BACK!
Here is the bad news: It has the exact same line-up it had two weeks ago:
6 PM/5 PM Central: The Amanda Show (This is one of the two worst sketch comedy shows to ever air on Nickelodeon, the other being the Jamie Lynn Spears episodes of All That!)
6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (The only way this OVEREXPOSED garbage will be remotely watchable is when they KILL COOKIE OFF!!!!!)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (KILL COOKIE OFF!!!!!)
8 PM/7 PM Central: Zoey 101
8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Unfabulous
More Good News:
The video game commercials are becoming more diverse with the addition of a few ads for PS2 games (Previous weeks of this season were dominated by Nintendo DS games!)
There is a preview of Just Jordan. In the past few weeks, I had dismissed it as another lame Archie-swipe. When I saw the preview, I had changed my opinion: The show looks like a great spin-off of Romeo! That isgreat, because I liked Romeo!
More bad news:

Well, Last Sunday, TEENick did something on your level, but here are the good news & Bad news!
Good news:

Bad news:

I felt that in order for TEENick to even remotely compete with all of the other channels, they have to drop The Amanda Show & one of the Ned's Declassified showings & bring back Mr. Meaty, plus add an animated program to the ranks [To be honest, they should avoid All Grown Up, As Told By Ginger, & Danny Phantom for the time being, & instead focus on trying to bring one or two of the cool fan-favorites to the roster, like My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, Invader Zim, 6TEEN, Ker-Blaam!, Rocko's Modern Life, Catdog, Shuriken School, Kappa Mikey, or even Avatar: The Last Airbender!)

A new show is joining the TEENick line-up this month... & it is not another awful Archie-style comedy!
The new show is titled 'H2O: Just Add Water', & it is an exciting Australian import that has been a huge hit on Australian TV since 2006, & the First Kid's Network should be praised for bringing it to the States in order of bolster the TEENick line-up!
The basic premise of the show is that three teenage girls facing everyday teen problems with an added twist: They are mermaids with powers over water!
The three protagonists are:
Emma: Who has the ability to freeze water.
Rikki: Who has the ability to boil water.
Cleo: Who can turn a drop of water to a bucketful of water & mold it into various shapes.
The show will debut March 14, 2008 with the first two episodes on Nickelodeon's Friday Night block at 8 PM (7 PM Central), then it will move to its TEENick time slot of Sunday at 7:30 PM (6:30 PM Central) on March 16.

Here is an update about TEENick: Here is a listing of the last two hours of the Sunday line-up from last night!
7 PM Eastern/6 PM Central: ICarly
7:30 PM Eastern/6:30 PM Central: ICarly (Two ICarlys back to back?)
8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central: H2O (This show is bit different since I last watched it in June: There is a new version of the theme song! But the show still is great!)
8:30 PM Eastern/7:30 PM Central: Zoey 101 (Why would you keep this trash on the line-up over better candidates like Unfabulous or even My Life As A Teen-Age Robot?)
There are some bad news:
*There is a preview of the next TEENick show, True Jackson V.P., & it is a HUGE step backward for the line-up, as this is the return of the 'Archie-style' dreck that had aggrivated us for the past seven years!
* Zoey 101 is still on the line-up!
Now here are some good news:
*H2O is still on the line-up!
* There is something way better using live-action on the channel coming tonight at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central: It is called My Family's Got GUTS, &, as you could tell by the title, it is the new & improved version of the legendary Nickelodeon game show GUTS!

8:30 PM Eastern/7:30 PM Central: Drake & Josh
9 PM Eastern/8 PM Central: ICarly
9:30 PM Eastern/8:30 PM Central: H2O (Best show on the Saturday night line-up)
Sunday:
6 PM Eastern/5 PM Central: Back to back episodes of "My Family's Got GUTS" (Now this is a great show! They should make the game shows & H2O the main focus of the TEENick line-up and get rid of the lame 'Archie-style' dreck except for Unfabulous, Just Jordan, & Dance on Sunset!)
7 PM Eastern/6 PM Central: Back to back episodes of Drake & Josh (After My Family's Got GUTS, this show pales in comparison!)
8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central: Back to back episodes of ICarly
Good News:
*My Family's Got GUTS has joined the line-up!
*H2O's still on the line-up!

I am so glad they're canceling that BS True Jackson show. It wasn't funny at all.
Disappointed that Gigantic is done...I kinda liked that one! Piper was so awesome: how often do you see a plus-sized girl in a teen drama who's actually popular, cool, and doesn't obsess about her weight? Never!

I didn't know that! I wsh they'd put My So-Called Life on there. I did hear that they are supposed to be adding old Nick shows to the channel in the fall.

The bad news: Bucket and Skinner's Epic Adventures is absolutely terrible. A sad knock-off of Zeke and Luther (which itself is only OK at best), it appears to have been created by a committee that decided to include cliches from all the other successful tween/teen coms, because, y'know, sitcoms are nothing more than jigsaw puzzles to fit pieces into. It also seems to be written by people who have no idea what things are funny and why.
Face it, Nick, if you've got a teen comedy that wasn't created by Dan Schneider, you've probably got a dog on your hands.

Bad news for fans of Nickelodeon's live-action shows: They are cancelling The Troop after only two seasons! The remaining episodes will air in February and March!
The problem is that they canned one of the best shows they had in order to push tripe like 'How To Rock'!

Viewing through its thread, just realized something: no mention of N / TeenNick's big mainstream ratings-making Canadian import: Degrassi: the Next Generation.
Although, yeah, as of the past couple seasons now, no Spinner, no Emma, no Manny, no nothing, but those new kids, and myself could only take so much "it goes there" with who overdoses on what drug, or who visits the clinic, to abort baby / check if have an STD.
But hey, that show still had a great enough run, during its first nine season, and whoever's a fan of Drake, the first seven.

Yeah, I gotta say the newer seasons of Degrassi are kinda lame. I have a few favorites--Fiona, Katie, Adam, Allie, Drew--but most of the new kids are pretty lackluster. The even newer kids coming in this season seem stereotypically bland; the gay guy, the nerdy girl, etc. I miss the old gang, especially Manny! She got REAL hot, as seen in two of the recent Degrassi movies.

I like how TeenNick has to rely in 90s nostalgia to remain relevant. Not complaining though. Love me some 90s nostalgia.

Another problem with the channel is that many of the shows that have not aired elsewhere in the U.S. before were foreign shows: The Canadian Degrassi, The Australian Dance Academy, the third season of the Australian H2O (the first two seasons aired on regular Nickelodeon here).
The newest 'original' show joining the TeenNick channel is another Australian series: Alien Surf Girls, from the producers of H2O, will debut on TeenNick on May 29!
What do you think?
