Below is a small comic book style script for a nine panel comic which will be appearing in a new comic book magazine, which will be going into to publication shortly, in England. The magazine requires a story to be started and completed in nine comic book panels…so that it can be published on one page in the later section of the magazine.

Due to the size limitations of the magazine and therefore the comic strip, there is little dialogue with only a few words towards the end of the comic.

The magazine is in its infancy and therefore cannot afford to pay for any work published, so I cannot offer any kind payment for the artwork. However the magazine does allow for advertising in the form of a web address and the like.

So, I am looking for an artist to produce this work for publication…it’s only a short piece but does require the art to tell the story. This would be great for any unpublished artist or and artist looking to show off there work to a new audience [and expected large audience…due to the fact that this magazine [comic book sized in format] will, hopefully, be sold at a chain of comic book shops across England]

Crime and Punishment

Page one [Nine Panels]

Panel One:

Caption: ‘Present’

The panel shows a crime scene, very stereotypical. [See picture below] The ‘body’ [the word body is used instead of outline of the body] should be at the centre of the panel or slightly towards the left, but should be the prominent feature of this panel. The outline should be of a man who was thin and relatively tall and the outline should be on a road [maybe half way on and off a pavement/sidewalk] It is night and the body is illuminated [not bright white, no….it should give the impression of having been stood on and not the pure white it would have started as] with the street lights and the lights of the police cars [off panel].

The arms of the ‘body’ should be outstretched, as if trying to ‘fly’. There is a trickle of blood [running towards the right of the panel] coming from the head of the ‘body’, forming a puddle at the very right of the panel. The blood should be a dark red, and again visible with the aforementioned lights.

[U]Panel Two:

Caption: ‘10 hours ago’

The main focus of panel two is the back ground. It shows a bank, with the words [on a sign] ‘BANK’ spread across the frontage of the building. The building is early 20th century and only one story tall. The building should show its age having been graphitised and generally been used for the past century.

[http://www.noehill.com/sf/landmarks/financial/bank_of_italy_hidef.jpg– this is for inspiration and an idea of what I feel the building should look like]

It is the daytime, morning, and the street in front of the bank there should be a few people although the streets should not be overrun with people. If possible the doors should be shown as modern and not of the original age of the building.

[[This panel is simple and just setting the scene for the next few panels]]

Panel Three:

Caption: ‘9 hours 45 minutes ago’

This is the first panel in which we can see the ‘main’ character of the story. The panel is a closer view of the bank, the front doors more specifically. The panel shows the doors being burst open by a masked [wearing a balaclava] man [the main character] holding a Desert eagle hand gun [http://shop.military-club.cz/images/airsoft/uhc/uhc_desert_s.jpg]. He is charging with gun held in the air, his other hand pushing the door open. The man should be of the same height and build as the body outline seen in the first panel, his clothes are black as is his balaclava with his hands covered by gloves, the only visible body part is his hair which [at least a small section is] hanging out the back of the balaclava. He will be facing away from the audience.

The interior cannot be seen but there a two old [75/80 years of age] women looking shocked stand at either side of the charging criminal, both on the outside of the building. The doors should be the same as described in the previous panel [“If possible the doors should be shown as modern and not of the original age of the building.”] and being opening although not fully.

SFX: CRRRASSSH [or anything that signifies the breaking and opening of doors!]

The SFX should be coming from the doors in a [upwardly] diagonal fashion. Should be bold and in a chunky font….the word should trail of at the end, with the letters getting smaller and smaller.

Panel Four:

Caption ‘9 hours30 minutes ago’

In this panel we see the main character holding the bank manager hostage. The bank manager is standing in front of a bank safe…

[http://www.fotosearch.com/comp/BDX/BDX348/bxp66747.jpg – again just visual inspiration]

…with the main character holding the aforementioned gun to the back of the head of the bank manager. The bank manager has his hands on the safe and is turning the safe handle towards the left, his arms crossing.

The bank manager is dressed in a suit and tie, with a name tag on the left of his suit jacket. The main character now has his balaclava pulled above his mouth but still below his nose.

The room containing the safe [in which the two main people in this panel, the main character and bank manager, are stood] is small and tight. The walls are a dull gray colour and the room only contains the volt [and for this panel the two aforementioned characters].

Quite obviously this script is not complete [there is another five panels]....however it is fully written and any one who is interested can be sent the rest of the script [just reply or PM me].

This is my first comic script so comment would be welcome...

Thanks

Dan

I'm game. The avatar is of my own making, just for a very small idea of my style. PM me if you need anymore info from me and for the script.
