Choirboy? There is no way that character can't suck.

Heh, Choirboy is quite amusing.
Sounds like Batgirl has not returned to the side of the angels.
I'm so sick of Deathstroke.

So, wait... Slade put a team of teenagers together and named them Titans East. And they're villians, right? And why's Inertia there if the Teen Titans don't have a Kid Flash anymore? Or Match, for that matter?

The Return of Kon-El maybe? They finally realised it was a shotgun blast to the foot.

Daughter of Big Barda? Fury from Apokolips who took the name in honor of one of the toughest Apokoliptan women? I don't know, but it sounds fun. The kind of thing that if Grant Morrison said the name, people would talk about how great it sounds.

But, in any case... Isn't Crazy Cassie Batgirl still fighting crime? I mean, from what I remember of her appearance in Robin, she was still fighting crime, just more violently and more than willing to kill them. So... why join known criminals?
She barely even knew those people.
>_< Let's say you don't have many friends in the world and some evil asshole kills the vast majority of them. Do you honestly think the normal reaction is to go "well, I barely knew them, so I'll work for the evil asshole"?

Y'know what would've completely prevented that? Not putting her on the team in the first place. They should just kill her and get it over with instead of writing her completely out of character without any kind of justification. How is this team any better with her on it? All she's doing there is mirroring Rose's transition from villain to hero, except at least her's was explained well.

Maybe this Titans East story arc can spin into a larger event like Morrison's 7 Soldiers. Behold this possible future ...
Titans East #0
W: Geoff Johns / A: Steve Skroce / 34 pp.
Risk #1-3 by Johns & Jason Pearson
Little Barda #1-3 by Johns & Adam Hughes
Batgirl #1-3 by Johns & Kevin Maguire
Choirboy #1-3 by Johns & Terry Dodson
Deathstroke #1-3 by Johns & J.G. Jones
Titans East #1 by Johns & Skroce / 34 pp.
What are your thoughts on this possibility?
I wouldn't even classify those people as her friends. More like associates considering how little interaction we got with them before Batgirl went on her roadtrip.
I'm saying bull to that. The girl had, over the years, had almost nill in terms of human interaction. And she got to know people a great deal more by looking at them than you or I do. And she had a much harsher reaction to death. And the few named characters were a significant percentage of the people she's gotten to know in her entire life (simply because she's gotten to know so few). And also keep in mind that almost every life she saved since going to Bludhaven, every man woman and child she saw while living in that city, was killed because Deathstroke wanted to be a jerk to Nightwing. If she is indeed working for Deathstroke, knowing that it's him she's working for... I mean come on.

All that people are saying is that this doesn't sound good, as its been described, for one character involved out of a large number of characters (admittedly a character that quite a fe people care about). It's still quite possible that the actual story will be very different from what's been described so far. But I fail to see the problem in basically going "uh oh, I don't like the sound of this."

As someone said, Sun Girl could be a pre-cursor to Sun Boy, but I was also thinking, it could also be new identity for Inferno. (If she's still around in this timeline)

In response to Constantine's "Hey, look, she's taking sides with a murderer who destroyed a city and killed thousands, including some friends of her's." Wholly justifiable, considering that in order to make that work, her characterization would have to be awful for her to not just fight crime angry, but work for a mass murderer.

He did, but he wasn't touched once since then until the Kingdom-continuity book, Son of the Bat. Grant's bringing Ibn in as a teenager, from what I've gathered, which would put Son of the Demon at nearly the beginning of Bruce's career as Batman and put Ibn right up there with Zatara and Offspring as Kingdom Come refugees.

Context, man. He was saying that Cassie knowingly working for Deathstroke is bad characterization. And that's what it sounds like we're getting, from what we've heard. Maybe we're not, but let people react to how the news sounds at face value.

Buy Wizard? Yeah, no. I don't think so. Not after that interview with Adam Beechen I saw Wizard do, where he got praised for how cleverly he handled Cassandra's motivation, and his good depictions of the Bat Family. No, if I had any respect for Wizard, it was gone with that article (but I didn't have any respect for it, so never mind). That said, I'm less interested in Slade's motivations that Batgirl's. Maybe his reasoning for wanting her on the team is absolutely badass. If she's on the team and knows he's in charge that seems severely out of whack to me.

Question why at the end of Batgirl's series Cassandra no longer wanted to be known as a hero and yet now she is deciding to be part of a superhero team:rolleyes: . And the only reason I can see Deathstroke having her on a team is he is looking for someone to replace his daughter and Cassandra could fill that bill. I just don't understand how this could be considered a hero team with Deathstroke leading it. Doesn't make much sense to me and also since Cassandra was leading the Assasin's guild why even waste any time with these chumps? I also find it hard to believe that someone went out and by cold blood murdered her sister can now be considered heroic again.

I never understand these 'Who cares?' people. I mean, obviously the people discussing the subject care. Maybe that person doesn't care, but I think it is kinda silly to think his ennui should be universal.

Well I can't speak for everyone, but I have a specific reason for my responses like that. I like to dilute public opinion. When I say I think that team looks dumb, and I don't care about this book, I would like the creators or someone to say, "hmmmm. Maybe if we switch some characters more people would care"
If only the people who like something post about it, then it looks like everyone Loves the idea. (not being specific here, it could be any subject) I like to throw in my disenting opinion that NO not everyone Approves or loves the idea. I also do that when Everyone seems to hate something.
Personally I try to be "somewhat" polite about it. There are a lot of people who can be downright nasty about a writers heritages, but I dont' think that needs to be brought up.;)

Risk was pretty much characterized as trailer trash near the end (I'm not saying that everyone that's lived in a trailer acts a certain way, only that Risk was sliding into a pretty negative portrayal, with that aspect of his life presumably meant to be the reason).

From Ben Morse the Wizard staff writer who's doing the article for #180 said this of the lineup (Deathstroke, Match, Inertia, Batgirl, Risk, Sun Girl, Choir Boy, Joker's Daughter, Little Barda) "This lineup ain't right." So either the DC Nation got it wrong or it's changed since then.
Or else he was using the phrase "this ____ ain't right" to mean even if its what they use, it feels wrong. Can you give the context of his statement?

I'm curious why Deathstroke would even do something like this, considering that he is always trying to destroy the Titans due to the belief that kids shouldn't be playing superhero. Maybe he's come to the conclusion it's okay as long as he's the one training them?

I think it's weird that Cass wold be on this team. I mean she just came out of a HUGE personality switch so now she's going for another? Well good luck to the writers, their heads are on the chopping block.

Wait, didn't he just get arrested by Green Arrow? What if he's trying to get out of jail by making it look like he's reformed?

Batgirl
Risk
Inertia
Joker's Daughter
Match
Sun Girl
Choirboy
Lil Barda
Wow despite Batgirl I've NEVER heard of a single one of these characters. I'm slightly interested because I did like Cass but has it been confirmed it's her? I've read a few articles that said she would never be Batgirl again even if she goes hero.
If Cass is Batgirl I might check it out other wise these characters are a bunch of nobodies and most of the names alone make me want to avoid it. Sure comic characters tend to have some stupid names but these are some of the worst ones out there and they are all on the same team.

Ben Morse the Wizard staff writer introducing Titan East in the next Wizard #180 had this to say about the list on Geoff John's forums.
"This lineup ain't right."
"It's just not the finalized list. Some of the characters are right, some are not."
"Full lineup and sketches coming to WizardUniverse.com in a couple weeks."
So it's either changed since they did the DC Nation page in Ion #5 or it was never the finalized list.
