AHHH! AHHH! AHHH!

I went to my LCS today, and they teased me with seeing the new Women of Marvel Comics TBP -- out tomorrow!

It is, no question, FABULOUS (with a bolded F)! The bright colors do justice to these old issues, and they look woooonderful!

Dazzler #1 looks superb! Though I am confused; in the index, they list it as being 1976, which is so not right. It came out in '81... even the painted cover for the issue is dated by the artist as '79. Hmm.

But it is MARVEL-ous. I cannot wait to pick it up tomorrow. Go out and buy, buy, buy! Hands-down one of the best TPB compilations out there.

So do you like this trade or not? I'm kinda confused.;)

Yeah, I'm definitely getting this, for Dazzler #1, Uncanny X-Men #'s 151-152, 182, 244, and Ms. Marvel (1st Series) #1.

I still think they could have fit in more issues, though. It appears that almost all of what I pick up from Marvel now is trades reprinting classic issues. Everything else is just X-Men: First Class, Marvel Milestones, Cable and Deadpool, and Claremont's X-Men books. Why is this trade so expensive? Not sure if I have the money for it at the moment...

I'll be picking this up when I have the spare funds too.

You know, I always thought Ms. Marvel's goldenstriperedsash was so hot and her best costume, but I've REALLY fallen in love with that original costume! It's so hot.

In a better place.
I dunno...the White Hot Room looks pretty dull to me.:p

I just figure that if this is a Women of Marvel book, they can at least put Jean on the cover....

They've got 5 X females on the cover, why do they need to add a sixth? ;)

Simple math really.

Because Jean Grey, if not the top female, is in the top 3 women of Marvel hands down.

So it goes......

Yeah, but this is highlighting the WOMEN of MARVEL COMICS, not of the X-Men. Though a few get props. Sue Storm and the Wasp don't really get any mention, either, aside from Dazzler #1 and the Avengers Issue.

Out of all these I would actually look forward to a The Cat trade with all the issues because it is so hard to find. As for this I'll be passing thanks.

But the recoloring job is JUST THAT GOOD! All our lovely beauties: recaptured! :D

I'm still surprised that they put Dazzler #1 down as 1976. Any thoughts, anyone? Slip of the wrist, or what?

Did anyone read Cho's Shanna, cause I thought that re-invented the Shanna story, making the one printed here, not in contunity anymore?

Also, isn't there supposed to be some sort of "The Cat" relaunch happening?

I have heard rumblings of a hellcat series in the works, but the Cat is actually Tigra.

What a shame I really don't like the majority of the characters featured in the book. I guess I'll pass on it but congratulations to all of you that like these characters. It's always nice to see various characters getting the spotlight. :)

Not in my book. The top 3 are:
1 - Invisible Woman.
2 - Storm.
3 - Wasp.

I'd guess I'd say Invisible Woman, Storm, and Jean Grey, but does Grey count considering she's dead (and has been dead a for few years - twice)?

well marvels most popular female character is storm. and they even call her their "answer to wonder woman". also...she was the first female team leader in comic history as well as the first black leader in comic history, as well as the first black woman leader in comics. i also read somewhere that she was the first black person in comics...but i'm scepticle about that one

the Cho Shanna has a new character but the men in it say something like "we call her Shanna after an old comic character" leaving room for both.

I don't think Frank Cho's Shanna is in the 616 universe, I think she's in a different reality altogether, without any superheroes...

Nope, the Cat who got mentioned is not Tigra, she does not appear in the book at all. The Cat is Hellcat.

Well, yes and no.

The Cat's costume is the same that Patsy Walker found in Avengers #144, which she wore becoming the Hellcat.

But the Cat from that 1972 series was the future Tigra, Greer Grant.

The Cat mini series stars Tigra before she was transformed into she cat.

Greer Grant Nelson, created by Linda Fite, at first was a normal looking woman, who had gained super human abilities and wore one of the Cat suits designed by a man called Malcom Donalbain.

Eventually she became one of the Cat People, assuming a feline appearance.

Patsy Walker, a Golden Age character, was part of the cast in the issues of Amazing Adventures starring the mutated Beast. Later, when she joined the Beast and the Avengers as they were investigating the Roxxon Corporation, she found one of the Cat's costumes in one of their facilities, and decided to realize her dream of being a superhero. These stories were written by Steve Englehart.

Yeah, but this is highlighting the WOMEN of MARVEL COMICS, not of the X-Men. The X-men are no longer part of the Marvel Universe? When did this happen? I guess then Storm is no longer Marvel's top female.:p
