With INFINITE CRISIS and its aftermath comes a reboot of several long-running DC titles. For a few of these titles, it's not the first time.

WONDER WOMAN - first run started in the early 1940s and lasted over forty years until 1986. Second run started in 1987 and lasted nearly twenty years until 2006. How long will the third and current run last?

THE FLASH - Golden Age run started in the early 1940s and lasted over a decade until 1953. Silver Age run started in late 1950s and lasted about thirty years until 1985. First Modern Age run started in 1987 and lasted about twenty years until 2006. How about the new run?

JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA - Silver/Bronze Age run lasted about twenty-five years from early 1960s until 1986. The Post-COIE run as JUSTICE LEAGUE/JLI/etc. lasted about ten years. The JLA run started by Grant Morrison in 1996 lasted ten years until 2006. How about this next run of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA?

Difficult to say . I think that long term, all three books will be part of the DCU in some form or other. But I also think that the days of long-runnning titles are pretty much over, aside from the very big guns - ie Supes and Bats.

To be honest I'd question whether you'll even be reading comics in the same format in ten years time - between digital and digests, there simply has to be a more economical way to reach a wider audience.

I hope I'm wrong, but hey.

It all depends on who writes them. Im only picking up JLA out of the 3. They really need to start getting younger readers or I think comics will die out completly. They have to find a way to beat Yu-Gi-Oh and all that. Flash and JLA will last longer than Wonder Woman IMO>.

I agree wtih mrc1214. I see FLASH and JLA lasting longer than WW. FLASH depends on what route they go. If this new Flash is going to be an amalgamation of previous Flashes (as I heard somewhere) or if Barry or Wally comes back it could be a short-lived series. But if it really is Bart and they stay the course of Kid Flash replacing Flash I think it could outlast JLA because they'll need to show us Kid Flash coming into his own before taking up the title of Flash.

Then again, JLA is a team book and the ability to rotate people in and out allows it to stay fresh without starting over. But that's assuming there's no business side to comics.

Im not sure that they will ever die unless the whole superhero thing goes away or comics entirely. And by rid of superheroes I mean if the industry changes enough they may go away and we will be left with like fell or walking dead where there isnt a real superhero. I think comics will die completely before that happens though.

Im sure we will always have wonder woman around, eventually they will like kill or her and her daughter (I know she doesnt have one now) or some other plot twist to keep it going. Or hell maybe earth 2's wonder woman will get trapped here and take her place or something.

And the flash they will probablly just keep doing what they have been doing, killing or retiring the flash and putting a replacement in.

Wait are we talking about how long the series will last before another relaunch or until they're "gone for good"? I thought it was the former, but Gargus's response makes me think it's the latter.
