How is it? Worth picking up?

Justice League Adventures #1 was a suprisingly emotional tale. I had no idea how emotional until I read it to my 5 year old...and found myself with a lump in my throat at the end...

The series overall are pretty good. Some months, they are better than the JLA series.

I have the first JLU trade/digest. It's got a very cartoony feel to it, and it's clear they have a younger crowd in mind but it's still an enjoyable read. Plus the digests are only $7 (I think) and you get four or five stories.

Yeah, those digests are great. I miss getting comics in that format. The stories in 'em are excellent, which always helps.

I've grabbed a few single issues (well, they're all single issues) of Justice League Adventures over the years and liked them quite a bit. The supervillain auction and all-cold-villain issues were my favs.

I think I've only read one ish of JLU (the one vs. Darkseid) and it was.....just ok. I've gotten the impression, though, that other issues since have been just as good as what JL Adventures' usual stuff was.

I'd say buy a few and give 'em a shot. JLU's being collected in digests (about $7 a pop) too.

(Also - I'm gonna say that no one's been raped or tortured or brutally murdered in either JL Adventures or JLU. So there's that going for it... :p )

The issue that was included with some of the action figures (somewhat oddly featuring Blue Beetle) was pretty good. I keep meaning to pick up the digests, but I never seem to get around to it.

Try the latest issue of JLU which focuses on Martian Manhunter. It's a nice little character study. Sure it's a kids book but so was the cartoon and I thought that was great.

I have the cartoon and the comic books.

The cartoon was great but the comic is very poor, give it a skip.

All of the Timmverse DC Adventure books from The Batman Adventures all the way to Justice League Unlimited, have been well written, well drawn, and more often then not told better stories, with better characterization then their main titles aimed at older audiences.

They are great books well worth reading.
