In other words, what regular Marvel comics character not usually thought of as being cosmic do you think could make a cool transition into a Marvel Cosmic character?
I'm going to go with Wonder Man cus he has to whole ion power thing going on. Is he able to breathe in space without oxygen?
The way I would do it is he would be kidnapped by some space alien and trapped light years away from the Earth and he could go on space adventures and battle alien evil doers.

This might be silly, but I would like to see the Hulk as a regular cosmic character, maybe Dr. Strange as well. I think the magic would a cool addition to a cosmic character.

I imagine Pulsar(Marvel Woman) would be able to be one.
I dont think her heart would be in it though.

I know this is gonna sound weird but I have to say Forge. I always thought he should just build himself a ship and take off and go see the universe. Travel around a while get in to adventures, maybe smuggle some stuff for the Kree, put together his own little band of refuges, kind of a Cain from Kung Fu, just in space. Give him a cast kind of like the people from Firefly, a Skrull security officer, someone from the future for a doctor, maybe a Kree pilot for fun. It could be a kind of fun premice.

I always found Scalphunter from the maruaders to be Forge's opposite , both are native americans ,both have similiar looks in the past , both are techo wizards and can design weapons on the fly as their mutant powers. They should have been pitted against one another. :)
Sentry is the obvious powerhouse that can travel the cosmos.

That's who I thought of, too. She's powerful enough to go cosmic, but she needs some motivation. I hated it when Monica more or less retired to go look after her parents. I'm not sure how to get her into space, unless she joins the fight against the Annihilation Wave, or the Kree come after her for using the codename "Captain Marvel" (which she'd point out she hasn't used in years). Or maybe hooking up with the Titans somehow, she was friendly enough with Genis.

Well , Monica was in the space station with Quasar and she was fighting with Quasar in Space in Avengers : Infinity as well as the starblast crossover. She was also in space when she tried to captured Genis for the Controller. She has had experience in space.

Here was my idea, kind of a throw back to the old cheezy 70's space stories, and kind of a comedy series.
Forge finally decides to try and make some "bank" off his abilities and works on a communications device that works better than anything here on Earth, better range, sound, doesn't loose signal in a tunnel. He picks up some foreign language, he doesn't immediatly recognize, then he hears another language, then another. Curious he builds a "universal translator" and discovers it's a distress call from space. He decides to "check it out". First he stops by Stark Industries and asks for Avengers assistance Tony explains that he's got the whole Civil War thing going on. (Forge being a mutant and having worked for the government is already registered) Tony does hook him up with some of the Avengers files on alien races. Forge not finding anyone to help him builds his own ship and takes off. He uses the distress beacon to hone in on where they are at. Due to his mutant ability he builds in a stardrive. When he gets to the signal he comes across a devestated vessel. He finds several different aliens who he learns were on their way to the "paradise planet" Ky'lun, as one describes it. On their way they were attacked by "insect" like beings who had eaten everyone else but as they got to the last ones were called away to attack a massive power source (like a giant stardrive) Forge not knowing anybetter agrees to take them where they were going. He is unwittingly lead to a planet resembleing a giant LasVegas. Thinking this may be a once in a life time experience Forge goes about siteseeing but just ends up gambling, getting drunk and getting married. However he didn't marry her under his real name, or his real species he tells her his name is Charles Xavier, and that his species is called a Metepopsykle (yes a not to the 5th element there) this is how he justifies getting married. He awakens on his shuttle, and after figuring out where he is he makes his way to the bridge, bumping in to the aliens he picked up earlier. After alot of freaking out he learns that his "wife" is from a species that lays eggs in the males and that the young eat the fathers. They explain that he came to them for help and they misdirected his wife and all met back up on his ship. After a laugh about what had happened they had a few more and decided to go "explore the galaxy" so one of the aliens (some new type I'm thinking humanoid with multiple arms and legs but kind of a snout) convinced him to disconnect the navigation system and hit the stardrive and just go. Unfortunatly Forge had drank enough he was highly agreeable and said yes, and they had continued with this behavior of flying through space from space bar to space bar for a couple weeks. So 2 weeks later (Earth time), Forge wakes up, the ship's a mess and they had been traveling without navigation so he has no where to use as a point of reference. He reconnects his ships navigation computer to begin plotting his way and hope to find a way back. Trying to find his way back, they agree to help with a planets evacuation from Galactus, they get lost in Kree space, and have to get out with out alerting anyone, as they get out the stumble in to Skrull space and have to get out of there as well, they stumble across a planet infested with Brood, basically just get in to adventures. Finally at the end of say the sixth issue a stargate opens and a ship comes through hyperspace. It's Forges "wife" and she's angry, and she begins to open fire, without setting any coordinates just trying to get out of the situation Forge punches the stardrive, and heads off to who knows.

Monica/Pulsar is a main character in 'Nextwave', if anyone here didn't know.
As for which character should be cosmic? Easy: Jean Grey from 'X-Men'. I mean, she is linked to the Phoenix Force and the Phoenix Force IS a cosmic entity after all...

In Wolverine's first series mid nineties I think. He did go up against Galactus  I can't remember how it went but I saw the cover to the book recently...looking for Quasar appearances :p

That's pretty good but I need more action. Firefly is a great type of show but Joss Whedon can't do Forge justice. Forge should go it alone, and explore the universe getting into fights in which he displays his ubertech and magical abilities and occasionally runs into a fan favorite like Silver Surfer or Thanos. That would be a great way to reinvent the character and make him the premminent tech-god in the MU.

When I said Firefly type, I just meant that mismatched type of cast. A whiney person, a gung ho type or two, a funny person, a ho, just a melting pot of characters... oh, and Joss for all his greatness would not be the writer I would want. I know you're not attacking my idea I just wanted to clarify what I was getting at.

I'm going to go with Wonder Man cus he has to whole ion power thing going on. Is he able to breathe in space without oxygen?
He doesn't need to breathe at all, or eat or drink. He pointed this out to the West Coast Avengers back in #4 of the Stern written LS years ago (when the other Whackos thought he had drowned). He still does eat and drink, because he likes it and it reminds him that he's human, but his ionic energy is all the sustenance he needs.
I can't think of any heroes offhand that I would think would be good cosmic characters, although I know I've had thoughts about some in the past (just can't recall who now). Sometimes it doesn't always work well- they tried it with Hercules in the Hercules: Prince of Power LS back in the 70s/80s and IMO it didn't quite work.

He already is one, kinda..but I say Gladiator. If the Shi'ar truley fall in Uncanny X-Men he could go solo into space to find a purpose with his life. Kallark the Gladiator - the ongoing series, I'd give it a shot.

Man-Wolf - an albino werewolf in space. hell yes.
Everyone in Nextwave. Especially Monica and Machine Man.
Simon Williams/Wonderman

Henry Pymm
The Sentry (hopefully an evil Sentry who doesn't dress like a banana with a cape)
The Vision
Tigra - Hey I just like the idea of animal people in space. what can i say?

I think I would reinvision Maddison Jeffries this way. First, the writer would have to get his head straight and back to his old self. After that, though, he could build a new Box bot, which would look about the same and have some new gizmos. On the outs with his wife, his past teammates dead, and having hurt too many people over the last few months/years of his life, he decides to leave Earth and start life anew.

I think you misinterpreted the question. It's not about them getting The Power Cosmic and become a super-powerful new space being. It's about picking normally Earth-based people and putting them in space. Maybe "cosmic character" wasn't the right wording.
And Magneto and Dr. Strange should never get The Power Cosmic. Ever. Period.

oh, sorry about that. I thought you meant any character normal/superpowered etc. So after rethinking what do you think of say Mister Jameson, the one who runs the daily planet.
Baron Zemo is insanely powerful these days. He's even competing against Grandmaster.

Personally, I think "cosmic characters" or "cosmic heroes" are only those who'd happen to have cosmic levels of power (Surfer, Quasar, Nova, etc).
Any other character below that cut (Wonder Man, Hulk, Wolverine) could fit in the "space hero" or "space cowboy" label, even if meddling in cosmic affairs.

Sentry could easily be made a cosmic character I feel. He already has the power level.
Honstly though I'd like see more street level typed heros be made cosmic character, street level fighting in space in various locations.

Okay, saying normal Earth-based people was probably a bad idea. However, I think Jameson going on assignment to record space activity would make for a funny, interesting story. There's no telling who he'd anger. Undoubtedly, his attitude would cause an interplanetary war.

Hmm, with the recent shakeup in the FF maybe Johnny Storm could head into space. I mean, able to go Nova and all, similar in ways to Frankie Raye (even though Big G gave her a boost to do so). Hot-headed Johnny in space... could be funny. Mebbe his buddy Thing could join him in his trek.

Here is a wierd suggestion for the Fantastic Four. I thought of this as a kind of revamped what if origin. Anyways the way it would work is Reed would do some wierd experiment that goes haywire and the group is caught up in it. What happens is they would kind of be like Psi Force where whenever they put thier four hands together they could form a new being that has all thier powers and a mind of its own with the merged consciousness of all of the F.F. members. Theyre the f.f. it is easy to have them covorting around in space. Just give them a rocket or have a kid kidnapped by some alien.

Jack of Hearts did spend a lot of time in space , in the stranger labworld. :D Besides , he did appeared fairly regularly in silver surfer to fight tyrant and trying to hook up with ganymede. ;)
He's considered a minor cosmic league though and he's dead.
Simon Williams probably could work as a cosmic powerhouse seeing as how he did not have to breath at all. Perhaps Ms Marvel and Simon should hang out in space and Carol can show Simon around. ;)
I agree with the Forge and Monica Rambeau suggestions. I say add Sentry and Nova and you got a pretty good team there. There needs to be more Earthlings in space.

When I saw the title of the topic that's the first character that came to mind. When I was a kid I used to think Wondy's powers were the best because he could walk on the ocean floor and fly to the moon. No need for air or nourishment. It's amazing a guy with all of those boundaries broken DOESN'T just fly off into space to see what he can see. (of course he lacks FTL, but he doesn't age either, although that might get boring!)

Jean as Phoenix would be nice to see permanently in the cosmic realm of Marvel.
A couple others I would like to see are:
Bring back Ben Reilly, give him Captain Universe and send him off into space
The Living Laser with M.O.D.O.K.'s 11 upgrade
The Spot
Angel (Warren Worthington III)
Ms. Marvel
Forge (as stated already)
Not permanently but I'd like to so see the Runaways have a space adventure since they have two aliens and an offspring of Ultron on their team.
Hulkling and Wiccan (as a team)
Darkhawk
Baron Zemo (previously stated)
Terminus needs to go back to outer-space

They sort of did this in the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Wonderman was still alive in the 31st century, rechristened as Hollywood, and travelled with the Galactic Guardians kicking ass and taking names with the likes of Firelord, Ghost Rider, & Phoenix he was a lot more uber but I guess living x amount of years he would only get stronger.
Still had an ugly jumpsuit/shades combo but hey I would have expected nothing less.
My pick for the intergalactic makeover would be,
Firestar - she is so much more uber in space
Exodus - bring him back to his original levels of bad-assery
Hercules - just cos his space odyssey was a hoot the first time around
