The original What If? series had an issue entitled "What If... Dr. Doom Had Become a Hero?"... I don't recall the details but I think he wasn't scarred in that alternate reality.

he fixed them with the Beyonder's power once and was still a prick. so i don't think it would change the universe much. he's ugly on the inside.

I'm sure I have seen him say several times that he keeps them as a reminder.

How it would be different if he never was scarred would be interesting though.

I don't think you get Doom's motif he's got going. He keeps the scars to remind him of his needed vengeance against Richards. If he removes the scars conciously (when he had the Beyonder powers, his unscarring was subconcious), it's akin to saying he's no longer Reed's superior.

I don't think you get Doom's motif he's got going. He keeps the scars to remind him of his needed vengeance against Richards. If he removes the scars conciously (when he had the Beyonder powers, his unscarring was subconcious), it's akin to saying he's no longer Reed's superior.

Has anyone seen Doom's face lately? For all we know he finally got plastic surgery and fixed it. But even fixed he would still blame Reed for all the problems in his life like making his girlfriend into his skin armor, or his mother being trapped in hell. He can't accept his own responsibilities.
