Have the quantum bands ever been in the hands of a villain?

They are in the hands of a villain now. All I will say is check out the annihialation board.

This I know, I suppose I should have specified....Prior to right now, have they ever been in the hands of a villain?

Maelstrom had them for a time when he cut off Quasar's hands.

And the original Marvel Boy went mad and became a villain, the Crusader.

And several of the original wielders were resurrected by Thanos and forced to fight against Quasar during the Infinity Gauntlet affair (while they weren't villains, they weren't acting terribly heroic, albeit under duress.)

Technically, wouldn't they be on the hands of villains?

A Skrull in disguise of the Contemplator had control of one of the bands until Quasar overloaded it and blew one of the Skrulls hands off (great story, but talk about retcon in getting the bands off of someone...).

Not necessarily. The bands under certain circumstances (for example a limbless creature) can be joined together together in a "necklace" form. We've seen this in some cases of the previous Protectors in flashback.

I often wondered who made them, and WHY? Was an ancient pact made with someone and Infinity/Eternity? Just like I wonder who made the original infinity gems, and are they related to the gems in the bands? Odd, very odd...

Though personally I hope Qman never needs 'em again. As a fashion accessory, they suck.
