I just bought the trade of I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League and I saw that Guy Gardner and Ice had a romantic relationship once. While it was interesting to see another side to Guy, I'm curious as to how'd that happen.

I believe it happened when he was being "nice," but I'd have to check.
Perhaps you're familiar with the one punch phenomenon?

Part of the fallout of that was Guy started acting super nice due to head trauma. And then he'd hit his head, and be himself, and hit his head again, and go back.....

Essentially, Ice pitied him because he was unable to show his true emotions or some such jackassery. I think Steve is right though, it started when Guy was in his "nice" mode. If you ask me fixing that is just another reason to love Lobo.

They had 2 dates in the JLI or maybe 3 (if you count a date in the JL quarterly). Ice think that his "nice" mode is in the jackass
"A date with destiny" in issue 28

and "A date with destiny II" in issue 45

and then they had another one in JL quarterly 4

Different person. The original ice maiden was a bisexual , the 2nd one which was in the JLI wasn't. :)
The original Ice Maiden

Fire and Ice joined in JLI# 14 and we're immediately impressed by Guy's sweet, caring nature (the post Batman punch). But when he recovered from the bump on the head by a crash landing from Lobo in JLI #17, all hell broke loose, as shown in JLI#18. In JLI #18 Guy was back to normal and Ice asked him about his behavior. Guy's fight with Lobo (hilarious) shocked Ice because his behavior had changed suddenly and was the opposite of what she had known him to be. But Guy put his sleazeball moves on her, thus confusing her further about his behavior. So it seems while everybody on the Justice League else thought that the sweet Guy was the Guy Gardner out of his head while the jerk Guy was the real Guy Gardner, Ice believed the jerk Guy was the phony while the Mr. Roger's Guy was the real. Thus, she tried her hardest to bring out the sweet Guy (as hilariously shown in JLI #45) because she believed that was the real Guy Gardner and that's the kinda Guy she wanted.

The Guy/Ice date issues are really hilarious stuff , i can't emphasize it enough.
The first one where guy took ice to watch a porn movie was funny , the 2nd one where ice took guy(with a promise to play nice) to a ice escapade show and then having blue beetle and kilowog pull a prank on guy was even better. :D

The thing was Guy really did care for Ice alot and it really tore him up when she died.

It was "A Date with Density," actually. I hope I'm not coming across as anal for making that correction, but the play on words was so freakin' funny I had to point it out.

Err... I thought I made it pretty obvious that it didn't matter. I just thought "A Date with Density" was a funny play on words and wanted to give props to Giffen and Dematties for thinking that up. Not sure how you could've seen that comment as rolleyes-worthy.

You can easily just say it without having to highlight my post and being anal about it.

Okaaaaaaay. I think you may be overreacting, but I've obviously struck a nerve so I will take out the quote.
