I was just curious if there were any Celtic heroes/villains in the DC Universe ? I don't seem to recall any . I know theres that norse girl and there are heroes like Captain Marvel and WW who get there powers from Greco-Roman dieties . Plus Dr. Fate and Black Adam have the Egyptian theme . Anybody representing the Ancient Celts ?

The only one who comes to mind right away is Blackbriar Thorn from the Injustice Society.

He was a Justice Society villain, and a casual Superman villain. He died not too long ago, though, in Day of Vengeance, when The Spectre trashed him in the Mist Woods.

Oh! And then there was The Druid, one of Zatara's villains.

One of the League of Ancients (from JLA) was a Celt.

Oh yeah! The little Irish guy. I almost completely forgot about that storyline.

Seven Soldiers, especially the Shining Knight mini, drew heavily on Celtic mythology -- the Arthurian stuff and the Mabinogion. (The old, original Arthurian stories, not the cleaned-up Malory/de Troyes version.)

Is Jack O'Lantern considered a celtic hero ?

Certainly the language that the Shining Knight was speaking when he arrived in LA seemed to have Welsh elements.

Though either in issue #6 or the later one-shot it was shown that he was regrowing. So he'll be back as soon as one of the writers remembers him.

Is Jack O'Lantern considered a celtic hero ?Maybe, he is from Ireland after all. But I never saw him as particularly celt-like etc.

Well he's a Mick, so, yes. Honestly he was the first person I thought of when I saw the thread title.
