It's time for me to get serious! I've spent years wanting to illustrate comics and just messed around... It's time to up my game and try and compete on a professional level... It's time to try and make a living out of something I love.
So here's the project that's going to do it "Witch Hunters"
It's also partly to answer my last thread about whether this style of work, works as comic art and I think it does
http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=137152
Anyway.... It's not quite finished but I was itching for some feedback! It's going to be coloured and have a background added, imaginge rafters and joists in the roofing of and old derelict church with moonlight peering through some holes in the roof and you'll get the idea.
Thanks for any feedback
Tris

Where's your light source? The shadows seem pretty inconsistent.
The shadow behind him suggests the light is coming from in front of and slightly below him.
The shadow on his right arm suggests the light source is above him.
The shadow on his face suggests the light source is to his right.

pretty good inking, i'm currently teaching myself how to ink, but one question, isn't there a series called "witch hunter robin" that is very similar to that?

Yeah... The Background is only temorary at the moment! Light source is mid-level front faceing at around 9 o'clock. Ill rectify that when I've finished the final bg.

Never heard of it personally! Not saying your wrong, It's obviously open to change if it's already in use.

Yeah...don't ink! I'm terrible at it as some of my previous work shows. all the ink work in this has been done using paths in feehand. It's probarbly not quite as quick, but at least you can alter the line thickness and move stuff around until thing start looking just right.
Learn how to use paths in Adobe illustrator or Freehand... Thats my personal take on it

So it took me a few seconds to get it but they are hunters that are witches, not hunters who go after witches.
Though one suggestion, might work on the first vampire guys design a little bit (or whatever he is, I say vampire because he reminds me of a cross between Angel/spike from the Buffy series).
Looks interesting; I'll leave the art critic to the pro's.

OK..So I've done a lot of B&W so far! Thought I'd post a finished colour frame so you can get an idea of what the finished comic will look like.
Comment Welcome....

Love the coloured peice.
The action bits; dude throwin frisbee, girl pulling guns, witch lady jumping towards viewer, they seem kind of static. For lack of better descriptive words, it's like the 'actors' aren't really into it. They need to be more dynamic and extreme. Where's the tension? I don't feel what it is these people are doing.
