Today I came across a petition that's going to be presented to Marvel to ask for giving Sabra a series of her own. If you wan't Sabra in a solo title too, you can sign the petition at: http://www.petitiononline.com/123A/petition.html

I think she's a cool character so I signed the petition, don't know if it will work though, but it also was mentioned on the Silver Bullet site today.

Considering that solo books other than the biggest name characters typically fail, it seems pretty pointless to support something that has little chance of ever being done. But Sabra will appear in Civil War: X-Men, and possibly something after that, so at least you have that. :)

She'll be in the Union Jack mini if memory serves me correct

I'm not sure if you're thinking ongoing or miniseries. I would think Marvel could test the waters with a miniseries and make the determination from there. Personally, I don't think a Sabra series would do very well.

I think if they put her on a team book for a while she'd have a shot. She'd make a great Avenger or X-Man, but it seems like part of her character to fly solo. I could really see her fighting alongside Cap America. I'll never forget her in the Contest of Champions..with the quills and all.

I'm all but certain it wouldn't do well. She doesn't really have any recogition outside of the diehard fans. What's so special about her? What would warrant her having a series all of her own? Has she had anything significant happen to her recently? Has she been getting massive exposure lately?

I have always been a fan of Sabra, and I really like her new look in Union Jack, but I don't think the market is there for her right now to have her own book. I agree that she should be in a team book though. I wish she had been allowed to be in Excalibur back in the day when the creator wanted to add her to the cast.

The fact that she is in Union jack will be the reason I am picking it up. I hope they give her a fair representation though. I want her to be able to recognize the problems of both sides. I think she is a character that would work great for an arc in Ultimate X-Men as well.

She also was supposed to join the X-Men around the OZT crossover.

I never had to much experience with Sabra, but I just never liked her (just one of those characters, like X-Man).

I would enjoy a mini where Sabra battles Mel Gibson.

Rogue, Gambit, and Nightcrawler could not sustain their own series. Mini or not. Storms have not fared much better.

All yer likely to get with a Sabra series is people saying "who? Meh...where's Spiderman? Oh snap, he's in the Avengers?! Gimme those."

Sabra seems busy defending Israel from terrorists. However, she would make a good member of the Avengers when the team reverts back to type at some point in the near future.

A Sabra solo book might work as a limited series.

I could go for a Sabra mini-series personally. It'd be nice if Marvel did an anthology of sorts. Perhaps do a book with a major character like Thor, Sentry, or a key X-Man and have a rotating second story with less obvious characters.

It probably wouldn't be successful though.

Sabra may work out better in a team like The Invaders, teamed up with The Blazing Skull and Union Jack. She always came off as a hard-liner, military/government agency type.

she should be an Invader. her personality suits her to such work.

Sabra = beat city. She's a C-lister, so I wouldn't see any series over 5 issues long.

They should give her a one shot or something. See how the response is to that.

THE ONLY JEWISH SUPER-HERO/SPY FROM THE MOTHERLAND IN HER OWN ONE-SHOT. PICK UP IF YOU WANT MORE!

"she should be an Invader. her personality suits her to such work."

The Invaders seems to have become a team like StormWatch, superpowered operatives who fought in conjunction with The U.N's military forces. Sabra sounds like a good character to put in such a group, given her history with The Mossad.

The Invaders could be played like a more superheroic version of The Ultimates, particularly with Union Jack and Blazing Skull.

Haven't you seen the sketches of her new costume in June's wizard? It looks like Shadowcat's kinda with a star of david as the zipper.

don't forget the new Arabian Knight, Spitfire, and, possibly, Roger Aubrey. i wonder if the Winter Soldier would fit in.

Sabra? Sabra?!

I can think of 60 other X-characters that I'd rather see have their own-mini.

Then again, I seriosuly doubt Marvel would even consider a Sabra mini. I've never heard of a die-hard Sabra fan before.

As you probably know, Israel and the Palestinian authority are in a bloody conflict for the last year and a half.
We believe, that by portraying an Israeli comic character in a series of her own- a character which fight for justice and against intolerance- Marvel Comic Company can contribute for better understanding between the two people, and hopefully to help bringing peace for this troubled region some day.

This is great. But how about a story on a Muslim-mutant and his/her fight for justice and intolerance. This is just my observation, but I would think Sabra vs Hooded-Muslim enemies would have the majority sympathy from the majority of comic book readers in the U.S. Why not change things around a little bit and show a Muslim-mutant fight within his/her very own country and community to achieve some sort of semblance and balance to their lives. I'd find that much more interesting.

Then again, I don't know how well such a book would sell in the U.S. Yet, I applaude the petition's attempt to shed some light on the current situations of the world.

I see Spitfire being more or less a supporting member. She quit the team after The Human Torch's death and given the end of her relationship with Union Jack.

I can see some of the old Timely/WW II heroes being brushed off for second-generation characters, like The Destroyer. The Thin Man is still around, but I have a problem seeing how his powers could be applicable (maybe he would be good as a behind-the-scenes leader).

I agree, Volk. It's easy to show terrorists and just pure evil people. I don't think this book would help the situation over there, even for the kids, if its just Sabra avenging her son's death over the "radical" Palestinians.

Seeing how the other side lives, to see a Muslim hero attempting to stop the destruction and bloodshed on both sides (instead of stereotyping one side to make them the enemy) would be a lot more powerful.

Why is Sabra the only international hero that people are interested in? I agree, most of the others were probably lame, but what makes Sabra so specail?

Are you reall sure making a series about a mossad agent is a good idea?

As I see it, no matter what you do you're going to be offending some people with that setup, I doubt Marvel will bother.

it would be nice to get some perspective on the issue of the larger world. I think Sabra would be an interesting take on what is happening, or maybe let Dust try to take a more proactive stance since she is in the States now, I loved the scene where she and X-23 are talking about faith, we need more moments like this IMHO. (Although she would not say Allah as far as I know, she should say God.)

I think some people would be interested in seeing Dust and Sabra interact, but personally I think Dust is a MUCH more interesting character than Sabra. Sooraya is waiting for further development, and she's a very powerful mutant with a genuinely different kind of power and concept. Sabra seems, other than her Israeli status, to be a little bit "me too."

she has Wonderwoman-like powers and a cool look. what makes any character special, really? :)

I think having a book about an elite Israeli espionage Jewish-warrior is a little too controversial for Marvel right now.

But I like Sabra. Put her in New Avengers or something. ;D

i haven't found any on-line. the new designs for he and Sabra were shown in the most recent Wizard magazine. if it helps, they purposely designed him to look like the arabic character on the tv show 'Lost' (Sayid) to get away from his stereotypical shirtless turban guy look. so think of the character from Lost with a curved sword. his 'costume' is basically a tan vest and army pants. if i find a picture, i'll show you.

Actually, this is what I think would make a Sabra book interesting. Marvel has so few books based outside the US that it would be interesting to see a book set in a different environment, especially one as volitile as the Middle East.

Of course, it would require a writer with the right sensibilities to pull it off successfully.

There's a difference between "Outside the US" and "Inside the biggest mess in the post-war world."
