The Batman Son of the Demon comes out tomorrow to tie-in with Morrison's run. After reading it, I think it was a heck of a good story. A lot of good Batman, Ra's and Talia stuff in it... now it'll be interesting to see how Morrison works this all into his run.

Hopefully Ra's shall return.

Yeah, SON OF THE DEMON was great. I'm a fan of any story in which Bruce is the hairy-chested womanizer that he's supposed to be. The main plot was pretty good, though the mystery subplot was god-awful.

And I hope Ra's stays dead. Talia's a much more interesting adversary for the Batman.

The female of the species and all that......

I dunno. I liked SOTD. But what I saw last issue frightened mne. I don't mind Talia being a villain. She's always struck me as the kind of woman who doesn't mind getting her hands dirty to achieve her aims. But there's always been a side to the character that insinuated that she had a moral core where there were some thing she just would not do.

The thing I liked about the SOTD and BOTD is that it showed she loved Bruce (despite everything) and their child. To think that Morrison has twisted her to the point where (it appears) that she will be using her own son against him. Makes me really ill.

Or she could just be uniting the two again because she felt bad about giving him away...

Or she could be a bit conflicted over losing both her father and her sister in such a short time. Talia is one of the coolest and strongest women in comics, but that could leave the best of us shaken up.

Thats what i think her intentions are.

Another thought i have just based on the last panel is she has obviously been training their son to be a detective so maybe she doing this so Bruce can quit being Batman and be with her.

I mean Ras always Batman to be his heir so maybe Talia has the same ideas .

I thought it was a very good story. Everybody has those urges & it finally gave the readers a connection to Batman on a human level.

I think this opens up new avenues and storylines to explore in Batman's adventures.

Maybe Nyssa's influence is still affecting her?

My prediction is that the kid isn't her son--but her father. She has made him believe he's Bruce's son (remember they go insane after a plunge in those pools). R'as lives!

Now that could be a Morrisonesque twist. Child Ra's al Ghul! I like it.

Well, I heard the Son of the Demon was coming into reality and then I saw him in recent bats comics... cool stuff. I doubt it is Ra's. I think there will be a conflict between the newly adopted Robin and the Son of a Bat.

How did she get him back from the orphanarium? And did she name him Thomas as they had planned to?

Pardon my ignorance, but I have two questions about this SON OF THE DEMON:

1. Is it a reprint of an older story?

2. Is it a one-shot or a mini?

Its a reprint of a one-off trade published in the 80's.

Little Ra's? Would that be Ra's Al Drool? hehe

Interesting theory. I would really like to see Ra's back myself.

Im sorry but I doiubt if This is Batman son!
I hadly see dc letting this story going on to ruin the winning streak bats has had in the recent years!

I would not be surprised if this is some ploy or at the end of the story it turns out I is not Batmans son!:D

Good theory. Except for the fact that she's turned a bunch of men into 'man bat's' to fight Batman. Just sounds way out of character for her. Or she's just been twisted.

It could be just a way for The Son to see his dad in action and to study how
he fights. Also it would prove to The Son that his dad is worthy of leading whatever Talia has planned for them.Kinda like what Ras did he always set up situations for Bats to prove himself worthy of being his heir.Makes sense to me Talia would the same.

There is the whole cloning bit running around the entire DCU. Jack Garrett has one, Robin's been trying to clone Superboy, so the kid being a Ra's clone isn't a far off idea.

I actually hope it's Batman's son, but there is doubt.

I would rather Bruce be the father of Selina's baby, rather than Talia's.

Just my own personal preference.

I picked it up and I enjoyed it very much. It so cool that morrison decided to do a tie in to this storythis should be a fun ride. Where's Ra's by the way?

I actually would like it to be Batman's son. Can you imagine the sheer awesomeness of the potential plot lines that could be developed from an obviously intelligent child who comes under the influence of both Talia and Bruce and has to deal with the effects of interacting with these two strong wills throughout his childhood. Would he grow up to be a hero? a villian? Could anyone in the DCU ever be sure what his alignment was?

Oh that's easy.

His allignment would be to himself.

Im looking for Batman : Son of the Demon with Andy Kubert's variant cover. But without any luck, so far. :(

i think it would be good if both Selina's child and Talia's child were Bruce's. This could lead to some very interesting storylines, future, and ElseWorlds.

The kids could go against each other, one good--one bad. They could both go bad and team up against dear old Dad who in the words of Austin Power's song "wasn't there".

They could be competitive with the current gen of Batman family members---Nightwing, Robin, Oracle, etc.

I like they are finally bringing this issue to full bore.

I wonder if they'll call the tyke Ibn al Xuffasch ("The son of the one of the Bat")?

The cover of this reprint was the nicest piece of artwork I've ever seen from Andy Kubert. Very Michael Lark-ish.
