Astonishing X men #14 confusion

Well, so I've been reading the last of the New X men series and and the beginning of the AStonishing series. I so far like the Emma/Scott relationship because it adds some spice in the story! LoL...But I'm a little confused with what happened with Emma and Scott...What did bloody Emma do to Scott's eyes? lol

She revealed that he could control his powers, he was just afriad to let go and do it. So she unlocked that part of him, but also put him into a kind of coma

BUT she either fixed his brain problem with his powers, or shut them off. The x-men are having a bad time with emma right now.

Not sure if it is a coma exactly but he is obviously not all there. It showed him with his eyes open drolling and eyes watering and not responding to anyone.

Coma might not be the best word for what Emma did to Scott. Reduced him to a vegetable might be better based on physcial apperance.

So, wow....a coma? I actually read the the thing on uncannyxmen.net since I don't have that issue on me. I'm just waiting for the TPB to come out around Octoberish.
TPB won't be out in October. The storyline won't even wrap up until then. Most likely December at the earliest.

they haven't announced that yet, at least not that I have heard. Personally I would rather the series stop than get a new writer, but that's just b/c I love Whedon so much.

Hmm...on Amazon, they're already taking pre-orders for it...and they say it'll be out in August, collecting Astonishing X men #13-#18...and I;ve already pre-ordered it. I'll wait until August, and if it's not coming out then, then I'll just cancel my order or something. I don't feel like waiting till December

The dates at Amazon are only guesses. Issue #16 will be out next month, #17 in September, and #18 in October. That is if we don't have delays. We have solicits thru October so far. They have been pushing when they trade recent stuff even later, because it detracts from the monthly sales.

My thought is that Emma did this to Scott so he could save the day with Kitty in the end. After all, if the new HC thinks he's a powerless veggie, They'll treat him with less care than the other captives. They'll underestimate him.

I just refuse to believe that Emma is going back to evil after 10 years of continuity in which she's been struggling to side with the angels.

Bah...I know I'm a heathen for even saying this, but Jean, while I loved her, was just too friggin' powerful to have in a regular comic. She shouldn't be wasting her time with mundane earthly things, and if she DID come back, she'd be better served by getting involved in cosmic storylines.

yeah, obviously, jean is coming back since she's been dead or alive like 3609865096 times in the comics.... also, i think emm and scott are going to break up (it was already beginning in the last issues of the story arc dangerous), and then maybe jean will come back in the meantime, blah blah...i kinda hope emma and scott stay together tho, cuz it keeps the story sightly more interesting lol.
