Well now that everyone knows about Joker appearing in a Batman Begins sequal it makes me wonder if WB decided to bring in Harley Quinn who do you think would be the best choice to play her?

My number one choice is Brittany Murphy

No better suggestion in my mind.I've always thought she was perfect for Harley even since i saw the diary of Brittany Murphy on MTV she seems like harley in real life.Also she was pretty good in don't say a word.

I would like Jeri Ryan or Gwen Stefani. Both can play Hot + Psycho well - I would choose Gwen over Jeri but thats assuming she can act. She can look very Gothic and also look the era of the 30's.

Dont know about Jeri Ryan. She doesn't exactly has that psycho look like Brittany does, now I can see her as Poison Ivy.

Same could have been said about Scarecrow but what do you know they somehow added him into the movie. So like Scarecrow, all it will take is some design editing then she will fit nicely.

With her orgin I say it does qualify for her to end up in Batman Begins in some fashion.

One, Joker is not going to be as large a part as he was in 89's Batman. I don't see them wasting his screen time with her. Not that she's a waste but, if Joker only has a small part, don't make it smaller.

Two, Harley is in many ways a costume and a little too cartoony. Without Harleys costume she is just any old henchwoman/girl on the arm/girlfriend. Not important enough to warrent inclusion beyond a random name drop for fanboys.

I love Harley but, outside of a comic or cartoon where she can be a ridiculous pixide, I don't see the point.

It's like Robin, it just seems pointless if not done right, and done right just seems campy and silly... like the last two Batman movies.

That argument is reasonable but makes me think, had Joker's name not be mentioned at the end or even considered to be involved in the sequal, that same argument could be made for Joker since most of his antics could fit well for comics and Animated Universe but not in Batman Begins.

Now when I look at this drawing of Harley Quinn I think this version actually looks less cartoony than the one from Batman: TAS.

To be honest the only way i can see Harley appearing in the Batman Begins series is as a quick cameo.

Like a Dr Harleen Quinzel gives a pyschiatric evaluation on the Joker in the second movie.

Or if the Joker has a girlfriend in the movie and he makes her wear the costume before killing her.

Whatever they do i'm guessing a quick fanboy tease kinda like the x-men movies did.

Here's the way I look at it. Since they had somehow put Ra's Al Ghul in Batman Begins then I dont see why Harley cant be considered.

Now if we really want to talk about characters who dont belong, and I mean really, then Mr.Freeze and Killer Croc are the one whom I cant see belonging in Batman Begins because their story orgins is so out thare that I cant see either one of them being interoduced and not making any Begins sequal appear cheesy.

We saw in Batman Begins Morgan Freeman's character being fired, his department being eliminated, who's to say they couldn't go w/ that Freeze worked for Wayne Industries and his department/funding was cut at the time & he's blamed them ever since. It could easily work.

And if he would be a villain in a future film, get Christopher Lloyd to be Freeze.

I think that they mean that a man clunking about in a Freeze costume brandishing a gun which freezes things would be at odds with the more realistic nature of the new franchise. Obviously they could re-write the character to suit the movie (like they did with Scarecrow) but I still can't see it working somehow as the fundamental premise of Mr Freeze would never fit in.

But what would give him the excuse to wear the suit. In the comics and cartoon he wore the suite because of the lab accident that cause him to must remain in that suit or any cold area at all times. Also that whole issue about his wife being the victim of it.

Having him just wear the suit on a just because would make him just like any other moraless and we already had those types in the first movie.

I suppose you could argue that the Joker shouldn't really work in an ultra realism Batman. Which Begins isn't anyway. It has lots of fantasy elements. Gordon suddenly being able to drive the Batmobile. Gliding cape. Water evap gun. Fear Gas. A man wearing a scarecrow face. Batcave. etc.
The Joker's green hair white face and red lips are fantasy. But I'm happy for a Batman movie to have lots of fantasy. It works for Spiderman.
