Okay, so i'm trying to get some info on certain characters. In particular, their actual character, not their history. Are they cool, hot-headed, always angry, the comic relief, fighter, etc.
Based on whatever comics you've read, how would you describe the personality, pet peeves, and over all demeanor of:
X-23
Dust
Siryn
Husk
Illyana
Chamber
I have my own opinions, but i want to see if i'm on the right track, as some of these characters i haven't read as much as others.

Illyana can be both cool and hot-headed. She can be a fun, caring (at least for her friends), and nice person, but she can also be irritated easily, angry, and ignorant/arrogant. I think the changing appearance of her armor is a representation of this.
For her lighter side, she told Kitty (and the rest of the X-Men and New Mutants) a fairy tale while they were having a cookout at the Xavier Institute in Uncanny X-Men Annual #8. In Uncanny X-Men #210, she was quickly able to tell that Kitty was unhappy, and she cared enough to talk to Colossus about cheering her up. She got along well with all of her teammates, except for Wolfsbane. She had an open mind about Magneto as the new headmaster, while some of her other teammates such as Sunspot didn't trust him, as seen in New Mutants (1st Series) #35. In New Mutants (1st Series) Annual #3, she was all pissed about the Impossible Man's antics, while the rest of her teammates didn't see it as much of a big deal. She is flirtatious, such as when she danced with Empath in New Mutants (1st Series) #53, while threatening to kill him if he manipulates any of the New Mutants's emotions. She makes comments about Cannonball being good-looing, and trying to hook Magma up with him in Firestar #2 and New Mutants (1st Series) Annual #1. She can often be a party animal because of the clothes she wears, like in New Mutants (1st Series) #'s 46, 55. In New Mutants (1st Series) #'s 65-66 (it should be noted that around this time, Illyana was growing much more dark, which led to her transformation into the Darkchylde during Inferno), she absurdly accused Forge of killing her brother, and tried to kill him, but pulled away at the last minute. While in her darker incarnations, she can be ruthless and often brutal, like in New Mutants (1st Series) #'s 61, when she sends Ani-Mator and a soldier of The Right into Limbo. She got irritated quickly when the bouncer at the gladiator arena wouldn't let her in with her teammates and Dazzler in New Mutants (1st Series) #29.

X-23: Was really a grower. She annoyed a lot of people who felt the last thing comics needed was another Wolverine. But she's not another Wolverine, Laura's really her own person. Read the X-23 mini from last year. It was really good, and tells you all you need to know about the larger part of her past, in relation to how she is now. Then read New X-Men since the Chris Yost DeciMation relaunch. X-23 is really good in that series. They've roomied her up with Dust. The problem for Laura is she's been trained as a weapon, as a machine, and only now is she learning how to feel as a person, and that's really great to read. The scene where she asked Dust where she was from, and she tells her Afghanistan, to be presented with a 'I've killed in your country' was really darkly humourous. And her sudden burst of teenage attraction to Hellion is also greatly intersting. She really doesn't know how to respond around him, as she's never been in that kind of situation before.
Dust: I also like Dust greatly as a character. I think it really weir dichotomy that a girl who, for religous reasons, stays hidden behind her robes, then forms herself into a female form when manifesting her power. I really look forward to seeing where the writers will take her. She's a fascinating character, with a lot of potential. I'm so glad she's survived recent events.
Siryn
Chamber: I have real love hate relationship with Chamber. He's a Brit like me, and I really like his power, but some of the writers who have written Jono have been frankly terrible when attempting his dialogue. I also much prefered him with the whole quirky Robert Smith, damaged Goth look. Somehow, with his face now repaired he's not quite as interesting. The concept of a character with so much to offer, but impeded by the fact he could only ever talk telepathically was really interesting. Take that away, and he starts to become a lot more generic a caracter. He also appears to have buffed out a bit too. Which isn't right. He should forever be uncomfortable interacting with people, apart from those who have the courage to actually getr to know him.
I hope that New Excalibur take the time to find him again, and do just that. Britain's Jono's home, and he could be a real asset to the team.

Well I haven't read a lot of most of the people in your list so I'l only cover those I think I have a grasp on.
Dust- She's a very devoted Sunni Muslim. She is an understanding person, she is polite, and tries to remain calm in trying situations. She believes very strongly in her faith and it is a very important part of who she is. In a group she tends to be fairly quite and will speak up to state her opinion but when given an order she will follow it even if she might disagree with it.
X-23- Now I completely ignore how Claremont wrote her in Uncanny X-Men because it was completely out of character. She is extremly quiet to the point of barely speaking. She does not have great people skills and will sometimes say things that are shocking and left unsaid. She is intellegent and will protect those who she deems as friends, or innocents. She is an expeirence killer and is an excellent fighter.
I really haven't read enough of the others to try and judge their personality yet though.

Siryn
Chamber
Siryn: She's a real woman. She's tough but she's also very sweet. We haven't really seen a lot of that sweetness in her current role in X-Factor, but it's there trust me. (Her relationship with Deadpool comes to mind :) )
Chamber: Angst is the most common word you'll see on the boards that describes this bewildered-Brit. He's hot-headed, but there were times when he was calm and cool but more often than not he was pretty volatile.
Pulse: He's a jigalow. A one-man sausage-fest for the ladies.....oh wait...you didn't ask about Pulse? errr....ok......lol..........
