I just finished reading Exiles issues 1-76 and all I can say is ...... How did I not pick this book up from the jump???? I am slapping myself silly for passing this book up over the years. I enjoyed myself severely reading these stories of different realities and different versions of our favorite characters. :p One of the best books to come out in a looooooooooooong time!!
Does anyone else feel the same way???

Sometimes i feel books are read better in big chunks....i found Ultimates a much easier read when it was all at once rather than four months between each issue.

Yes, Exiles is a great title. I think that it has got a tiny bit samey in the last few months, but I guess that's why Tony Bedard is switching for Chris Claremont. Always helps to keep a title fresh.
I just wish that Nocturne was still as kick ass as she was in exiles in New Excalibur. I miss that Nocturne...:(

Unfortunatley she seems to have been relegated to 'rookie' position...despite the fact she was badass X-Woman in Exiles.

Annoying isn't it. Don't get me wrong she's had a couple of stronger character moments in New Excalibur (While the book was still flowing) Like her phone conversation with Kurt where she accidentally referred to him as 'Dad,' or shopping round London oblivious to the looks she was gettiong. I really like that from the way Claremont has been writing her shge's finally finding a home in the UK, wheras nowhere else on Earth 616 she has.
But it still remains that she's not as strong willed or just plain tough as she was on eXiles. And we need to see more of that.

I have Exiles as a small run. It was the best book Judd Winick did I think.

It has been a while since I have read the early issues, they were some of my favorite comics for a while. I still love the new issues as well, but I have always been kind of sad that Thunderbird is gone. I am stoked he is getting a spotlight suppposedly.

i'm currently re-reading all my Exiles trades. love them. i got into it with the Age of Apocalypse tie in story. and i hate how nocturne seems to be being portrayed as a childish timid person, when in exiles she was really confident etc. its annoying. but at least she's not dead :D

Exiles has been one of my constantly decent books since about #23.
I started reading it arround #23, the story was "With an Iron Fist". The story was brillaint and tyhe exact type of thing I wanted from this book. Austen came on and wrote an excellent story. Lots of characters lots of deaths, the way I likes it.
Bedard did well on his run, started off well, but for me it lacked in a few aspects I liked about the book. Deaths being one of them (I like the deaths in Exiles, it shows how expendible they are in the run of things) The developments Bedard made are good and I am looking forward to Claremont's take on the book. i just hope we get to see a few more new realitys and more deaths.
I'm kinda bored with Blink, Morph and Heather.

To be honest, and I am not trying to bash here, but I don't know if I think Claremont will take this book in the direction I like it. I am worried it will end up being too many old x characters on the team. Right now I am really happy with the line-up. Especially seeing Spidey 2009 and Power Princess. I don't really want a lot of inner monolouge or explanations of when a power is being used. I will try it out first though before I give my final eval.

I find it amusing that characters from the (long forgotten) 2099 period are still managing to work their ways into books of this day.
Exiles has some potential, I'll give it that. I sampled the series in the begining & I'll likely same it again when Psylocke joins the team :)

I don't read Exiles; has Circuit Breaker shown up. That'd be interesting because she's an anomaly as the only character from Marvel's Transformers series to show up in a supposedly 616 story (although Spider-Man did show up in Transformers).

Now that'd spice things up with a Transformer in the mix. I'm hooked on this book now. Thanks Marvel for making me dish out my hard earned money for another title every month.

Circuit Breaker will never show up in a Marvel book, ever again. It's kind of the same situation as there is with Doctor Who. Even though there might have been a guest appearance in a 616 Marvel book once upon a time, that was when Marvel still owned the comic book creative rights. They don't anymore, they were sold off during the asset stripping of the mid 1990s, and as circuit breaker belongs to part of that mythos the character is almost certainly not owned by Marvel anymore.

Try buying it online. It was released a long time ago now, and might be trickier to get hold of.
It's well worth the effort. It's a solidly consistently good title.

Well, for a hundred bucks you can read every X-Men comic book EVER!!! EVERY X-MEN BOOK THAT ANY AND EVERY X-MAN HAS BEEN IN!!! Including the whole Exiles collection and many more. Now, I'm not saying that I own one of these myself, but this would make any X-Man fan very, very happy because who can afford every X-Man book ever???

I really enjoy this book, but I am scarred that Claremont might screw it up. His stuff recently has been very so-so at its best. Buth then again maybe this is exactly the kind of book that he needs. He can't try to do massive story lines if they ar ein a diferent dimension every 4 issues.

I think Circuit Breaker may actually be owned by Marvel. It's not the same situation as Dr. Who, because he was a character who was previously created by someone else in different medium and then licensed to Marvel for use in comic books.
In contrast, the Transformers were licensed to Marvel for publication and then Marvel employees created some supporting characters beyond the pre-existing Hasbro characters. Circuit Breaker, AFAIK, has only appeared in Marvel comics. On bottom of this page, (http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/circuitb.htm) Circuit Breaker is analogized to Shang-Chi (who is Marvel character even though his father, Fu Manchu, is owned by someone else) and Kulan Gath (who was created by Marvel for Conan comics, and went on to appear in X-Men and other 616 titles).

I recently read about 6 of the trades. It is a great read, but what I like the most about it is its consistency.
I was going to start picking this up, but then I heard Claremont is going to start writing it soon. Dont get me wrong, Im not a total claremont hater, I love some of his stuff, but I just cant see him writing exiles well.

The only bad thing about Exiles is that it took them a full 74 issues to get Longshot involved; he should've been there from the beginning. Oh, and the World Tour dragged on just a bit too long.
Still, awesome book. Definitely the best non-Barry Ween book Judd Winick has done.

Yeah, the man who wrote 'Cross-Time Caper' and basically made Alternate Realities a big deal in the Marvel Universe isn't right for Exiles. ;)

Exactley. Chris almost invented the genre as far as Marve are concerned.
If Excalibur hadn't taken that path for as long as it had there probably wouldn't even be an Exiles.

Actually Marvel DOES own the rights to Circuit Breaker. Thye can use her whenever they want. That's why whatever company that was currently putting out TF reprints of the Marvel series couldn't print copies of issues that had Circuit breaker in them.

For those looking to get into Exiles you can easily buy all the TPBs off of Amazon. When you do a search type Marvel Exiles to make it easier to find them. I’ve purchased nearly all of my Exiles trades there.
Exiles has constantly been good from beginning to current for me and is my second favorite title out of everything.
Longshot did join the team, temporarily, in one of the earlier issues when they ran into Mojo. It’s also great when they visit pervious Marvel Universes that don’t get used much. Hopefully Spider-Man 2099 will be a lasting member to the team.
I’m a little worried that Chris may base a lot of his stories around the X-Men, more specifically the 616 Universe. After all they’ve already had, what, two or three encounters with them? It’s a massive multi verse so I’d like to stay away from that universe for a while.

Exiles is great and always has been. Bedard's run on it has been spectacular, to say the least. But I've always been curious why they haven't ever been the Man-Thing's swamp. It is a nexus of realities, after all.

While I'm a fan of Exiles, I haven't been all that impressed with Bedard's work on the book. I felt his conclusion to the Time Broker storyline was a little anticlimactic, and World Tour didn't grab as much as I thought it would.
That's not to say that his work his been bad, as I still find the book a solid read. I think I just expected more, based on Winnick's and Austen's work, as well as Bedard's excellent work on other titles.
