So, Quasar, Thanos, and Annihilus? What's goin' on, here?

Wow... I can't beleive he actually put them on! It is only a matter of time. he can't take them off again till he's dead! We will either see Annihilus: Protector of the Universe or that bad boy will most assuredly will be Dead by the end!

My expectations are really high right now!

Oh and if any of you are not familiar with Annihilus it is totally in his character to be really stupid! He always seems to be the reason of his own downfall. I know that is said about Thanos but Thanos is intentional while Annihulis is just his inability to think!

C'mon Wendell get those Bands back!

umm... okay... I am lost myself. Could someone explain exactly what the Negative universe is?

There is a spoiler warning on the title so I am just gonna comeout and say it.

Annihilus is Quasar? I don't think so. I mean ... really. nah

as for Annihilus knowing about the Gauntlet maybe that is tied to the negative Universe maybe it wasn't effected when Thanos reversed everything.

I think that maybe in the negative Universe Annihilus is the embodiment of death that "Death" is in the regular universe and maybe that is the common ground that Thanos shares with him.

Again all grasping at straws here but Andy is really weaving an interesting web here :)

Annihilus knowing about the Gauntlet: As he's trashing everything he's gathering information. I can live with him learning about the most powerful forces of the Universe on the way.

The Bands: Holy Spit! I guess I saw that but, well, obviously figured it was something else. And although the annhilation days are in the corners I'll admit to having been lazy and not putting them in order.

Where's Paste Pot Pete when the Universe needs him? He's got a hundred and one ways to stop this madness (only mentioned since Annhi was reduced to such a pathetic villain in those days..

On a side-note about the Q-bands:
Does anyone else remember that The Silver Surfer has them in the Guardians of the Galaxy Timeline, and that the Surfer is more deeply tied than ever to Galactus there?

Could this be the start of that all happening in the 616?

For me that would totally rock "Silver Surfer, Protector of the Universe, Keeper of Galactus". He's very nearly my favorite character ever, (even moreso if you throw out that recent garbage series) but, alas this would make him so much more powerful and important that nobody would ever know how to write him well. (But it would make the tears I cried for Quasar a price well paid.)

Any thoughts? Maybe I'll ask Andy.

1) Annihilus has the Quantum Bands
1.a) Annihilus is wearing the Quantum Bands
1.a.1) Annihilus is totally unworthy of wearing the Quantum Bands (Spec)
1.b) Annihilus has not been disintegrated yet

2) Annihilus has the Cosmic Control Rod
2.a) The Cosmic Control Rod has been shown to absorb Quantum Power

3) Annihilus is being shown as more powerful than ever

Where is Annihilus getting this extra power?

4) Annihilus is using the CCR to absorb the unchecked energies of the Quantum Bands that would otherwise destroy him.(Spec)

This feedback loop, utilizing the full power of the bands, would easily explain his massive increase in personal power.

5) Assuming 4, removing the CCR would rapidly disintegrate Annihilus(Spec)
6) Massive amounts of Quantum Power are being channeled into the CCR, which was the last place we saw Quasar's essence going.(Spec)
6.a) Quasar has had experience maintaining his essence as strictly an energy construct.
6.a.1) Quasar needed help the last time that happened
6.a.1.a) The person Quasar needed help from then is the same person whose energies are being ruthlessly exploited by Annihilus (i.e. Infinity)

annihilus isnt technically unworthy of the bands, he just has to not fight them. The bands are pretty taoist in nature, if you fight against them and try to control the flow directly youre destroyed. But if you let go and try to shape the flow instead of cap or stop it youre gold.

I think evil villain personality will lead to Annie :) trying to control it and youre pretty much on the mark. But Thanos I think would be someone to actually use it the way youre intended to and then its over.

I would love to see Quasar rip from Annihilus' carcass, slipping the bands on. He becomes something more than human, yet human still. The humanity was was so special about the character. Too few characters reflect that these days.
