Awesome. It's really a great story. Starlin is one of my two favourite Batman writers. He writes Batman as he was meant to be a genius and a warrior. It's a very good blend of action and detective story.

I hated it - I thought it was one of the lower points of Jim Starlin's run - which is pretty bad considering that I didn't think Starlin's run was that good (which the exception of this Batman: The Cult miniseries)

I think it's one glaring fault is that, like a lot of stories back then, it is not timeless. It is quintessentially an 80s story.

Same with Death in the Familly.

A product of the cold war era if anything is... the full name of the villain is the KGBeast. Aside from that little wrinkle, I thought the book was fine. Its got that old school O'Neill Detective charm, the vision of Batman that seems most prevalent in the animated series. All in all, I think its definitely worth a purchase.

Since I consider Starlin's run one of the low points in Batman's career up to that point, I'd have to say that no, I don't think it's very good.

Good call. It's a great story, but very dated now.
