There have been rumors that UPN is not the only line of shows in the Viacom stable to get the axe. It seems that TEENick is very close to being axed as well!

It started a few years back as a line with potential. Unfortunately, the potential was wasted as fast as the line started: It started to drop great shows as The Secret World of Alex Mack, The Tomorrow People, The Journey of Allen Strange, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, Space Cases, Kenan & Kel, & The Brothers Garcia in favor of more idiotic Archie-style slapstick shows. They drop the Nick Video Picks, which spotlights cool music videos. They give the few Nicktoons placed on the line-up short shifts (The only one worth noting was the great My Life As A Teen-Age Robot). They occaisionally air bad movies. They drop reruns of former broadcast shows like Clueless, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Full House, & Sabrina, The Teen-Age Witch as soon as they start airing them. There are very little licensing spin-offs of these shows! And the commercials are mostly for stuff that most teen-agers had outgrown!

The beginning of the end of TEENick was in the beginning of this year. In February, Nickelodeon decided to drop several of their shows. TEENick was affected very little. Most of the caualties were some of the lesser Nicktoons (Including one former TEENick show, My Life As A Teen-Age Robot.) Some executives saved both As Told By Ginger & 6Teen by placing them in the TEENick Sunday line-up. (If the two were not transferred to TEENick, they would have shared the same fate as ChalkZone & Super Duper Sumos: They would not find any time slot on the Nickelodeon line-up or on the NickToons channel!) TEENick had been affected in one way: It lost the post-SpongeBob Monday thru Thursday 8:30/7:30 PM Central time slot to reruns of All Grown Up (Which was a lame show to begin with!)

I have run out of time today, so tune in some time this week for the end of season casualties & what we can do to save the TEENick line-up!

To be honest I always thought of Nick as a little kids channel and when I became a teen I didnt bother watching them. Growing up though I did enjoy Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, You cant do that on television, and The Cities of Gold. Now as an adult every once in a while Ill watch spongebob which is pretty funny.

I feel your pain but I dont feel like they care. I'm not sure what their deal is. There is definitely too much slap stick comedy going on now which basically boils down to a character triping over something and falling down. I swear everytime I see a Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan movie trailer, theres a scene like that. One would also think Nick would have more varied programming since they have like 5 different cable channels now. Space Cases was my absolute fave show. Did it ever have an ending to the story? Kenan and Kel was good also. Come to think of it so was Are you Afraid of the Dark and All That. All That use to be so funny but the Britney Spears sister version is really awful. It's sad. oh p.s. Alex Mack and the Tomorrow People rocked!!!

The N is not a 24-hour station. It shares a line-up with Noggin, a station that is analogous to Nick Jr. The N is on from 6 PM (5 PM Central) to 6 AM (5 AM Central).

Unlike Noggin, which mostly has the same shows as Nick Jr., The N has an entirely different line of shows:

* Three original shows: Degrassi: The New Generation, Instant Star, & the new Whistler!

* Music Videos

* Degrassi: Old School (Reruns of the PBS Degrassi.)

* And reruns of four former network shows: Clueless, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Moesha, & the live-action Sabrina, The Teen-Age Witch show!

Plus, reruns of the classic MTV animated series Daria!

Only one show is currently on the line-up of Nickelodeon proper: The Fresh Prince (on Nick At Nite!)

For More on The N, go to www.the-n.com

There are good news for you, Ugoff: Nickelodeon had dropped All That from their line-up because the publc agreed with you about the Jamie Lynn Spears episodes they aired last season: More people liked the Kel Mitchell/Kenan Thompson-Era episodes over the recent ones with Jamie Lynn Spears!

There are also bad news for most of you: Nickelodeon also dropped the two animated show recently on TEENick, As Told By Ginger & 6Teen, in the same axing. That is a bad move, due to the fact that there are no other nick channels for the two of them to go!

I hope that TEENick includes at least one animated show on its line-up this fall. It can include the two shows they dropped in the last few months, or even My Life As A Teen-Age Robot (A show that I liked so much that deserves another chance to make it on the air!)! You can write a series of e-mails regarding this turn of events by e-mailing to: teenick@nick.com

I never even knew TEENick was what it was called nowadays.....

Jeremy A. Patterson
08-05-2006, 01:33 PM
The main reason for the name TEENick was due to the fact that Nickelodeon was trying to cater to an older audience than those who enjoyed their other shows.

The main reason I am worried about the line-up is that this is the end of summer & it is the time that the promos for the fall shows come on. I seen promos for the core Nickelodeon shows, the Nick Jr. ones, & the Nick At Nite shows, but there are no promos for the fall's TEENick shows, & I hope that they include at least one animated show in their line-up this fall. TEENick is currently scheduled at these times: Monday thru Thursday at 8:30 PM (7:30 PM Central), & in a three-hour block on Sundays at 6 PM to 9 PM (5 PM to 8 PM)! I hope they regain their Saturday spot!

Jeremy A. Patterson

Well, if TEENick does get the axe in time for the fall season, we will point the blame on the programming executives who overwhealmingly support Dan Schneider, the worst producer in TV history. They also intend to give any Nicktoons placed on the line-up short shifts like four months!

Maybe TV Obscurities will give us a memorial on the demise of the line-up. You can ask them at: webmaster@tvobscurities.com

Thanks;

They would probably do alot better if they dug up some of thier older cartoons like Count Duckula or put a 2 hour block of Spongebob and Ren and Stimpy.

Jeremy A. Patterson
08-07-2006, 07:23 AM
Well, Nickelodeon is going on that same direction. Yesterday at 6 PM (5 pM Central), on the slot that usually opens the TEENick Sunday block, we instead see Spongebob & his ilk. So, I suppose, TEENick may very well be in the same situation as UPN. The shows on TEENick since February: All Grown Up, As Told By Ginger, 6Teen, the Jamie Lynn Spears era All That, The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, Ned's Declassified Back To School Survival Guide, Go Healthy Challenge, Just For Kicks, Nick News, Unfabulous, Zoey 101, & Romeo!, will probably have the lowest chances to get stints on other Nickelodeon divisions (Lower than the likes of ChalkZone or Super Duper Sumos, to name two failed Nicktoons!). I hope Nickelodeon comes back to their senses & revives the line-up around mid-season with a better line-up (Drop All Grown Up, As Told By Ginger, Jamie Lynn Spears era All That, The Amanda Show, Just For Kicks, Unfabulous, & Zoey 101, & replace them with more favorable shows like My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, The Secret World of Alex Mack, The 100 Deeds of Eddie McDowd, Kenan Thompson/Kel Mitchell era All That, Kenan & Kel, The Tomorrow People, The Journey of Allen Strange, The Mystery File of Shelby Woo, a show themed around a more american sport [Soccer only appeals to infants, drag queens, the French, & homosexuals!] & get rid of any of the Archie themed shows & plea to license any of the old Marvel shows from the 1980s & 90s [Even minor shows like Jem, Hulk Hogan's Rock n Wrestling, Bigfoot & the Monster Machines, Robotix, Pandamonium, Meatballs & Spaghetti, Spider-Man Unlinited, & Avengers: United We Stand. If they really want an Archie Comics property on your line-up, why not go with any of the Mighty Crusaders heroes, or That Wilkin Boy. As my friends Paul Castiliga & Rik Offenbacher told me, they are more preferrable than that loser witch Sabrina!) Plus, revive the Nick Video Picks!

I hope my idea gets the nod over at Viacom.

Well, TEENick is still [barely] alive. I have the new line-up for the Monday & Tuesday post-Spongebob slot of 8:30 PM (7:30 PM Central).

The new line-up is:

Monday: Zoey 101

Tuesday: Zoey 101

Already, Unfabulous has lost its Monday time slot to Zoey 101.

Tune in in the next few days for the Wednesday & Thursday shows. I hope they add an animated program [or a reality show] to TEENick!

Good luck!

I have a few gripes about the current line-up:

* There are no animated shows at all on the line-up (I would rather have My Life As A Teen-Age Robot over the likes of Unfabulous & Zoey 101 any day of thw week!)

*The interviews are dropped.

*The cool scrolling messages are taken out of the shows.

*There is few marketing tie-ins.

On the upside:

*The commercials are being more relevant (With Clearasil & T-Mobil spots!)

See you later!

I like Drake and Josh, but thats about it. I wouldn't mind if they got axed.

It is far from axed, since it not only has a spot on the current Sunday night line-up, but it recently took over the Tuesday after-SpongeBob prime time slot!

But I hope Nickelodeon adds an animated show to the TEENick line-up in the next few weeks (They could bring back My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, or bring in a new show called Kappa Mikey that could bring in more veiwers!)

I am corrected. Drake & Josh has officially replaced Zoey 101 as the Monday thru Thursday post-SpongeBob slot show. It is a slight improvement, but I would rather have an animated show on that time slot [I have two choices: My Life As A Teen-Age Robot & Kappa Mikey!]

It seems that TEENick is in danger once more. It lost the Monday thru Thursday 8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central time slot to reruns of Danny Phantom, so TEENick is once more Sunday-only (Even though a few of their shows are on the weekday afternoon line-up!)

The new Sunday line-up is:

6 PM/5 PM Central: Romeo!
6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: The Amanda Show (Replacing Just For Kicks; I am glad Nickelodeon is airing more of their older shows, but I am pissed that they chose The Amanda Show for the TEENick line-up. That show is on what we call the 'Crap List' (Alongside Just For Kicks, the Jamie Lynn Spears episodes of All That, All Grown Up, & As Told By Ginger.)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (The only way I am going to like this series is if they KILL COOKE OFF!)
8 PM/7 PM Central: Zoey 101 (This show deserved to get the axe!)
8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Unfabulous

What do you think of this line-up? Is it good or is it crap?

Look for my comments later today!

J.A.P.

Jeremy A. Patterson
09-22-2006, 09:27 AM
Well, last Sunday [September 17], TEENick dropped the interview segments from the line-up. They also dropped Unfabulous, & replaced it with two more shows:

8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Go Healthy Challenge (I like this reality show. My main gripe is that it is only 15 minutes long!)
8:45 PM/7:45 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (NOOOOOOOOO! If I were the programmer behind TEENick, I would have chosen My Life As A Teen-Age Robot as the after-Go Healthy Challenge show over this trash! Most viewers would rather have an animated show on the TEENick line-up over such an overexposed Archie rip-off as Ned. Ned deserves the same fate as Just For Kicks, the Jamie Lynn Spears version of All That, & All Grown Up: CANCELLATION!)

This line-up became even worse. The only good addition this week was Go Healthy Challenge!

Do you think this change is good or crap?

Back to basics? Nick started out (and stayed for years) as a an all live-action network with a no-cartoon policy. The first cartoons I remember on Nick were Dangermouse and Mysterious Cities of Gold in the mid 80s. The staples of Nick promgramming were Pinwheel, Calliope, You Can't Do that on Television, and British imports (Tomorrow People, Third Eye, etc.) and "serious" shows like Livewire.

6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: Mr. Meaty (This is a great new puppet show. It is more watchable than The Amanda Show!)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh (New Season)
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School survival Guide (New Season)
8 PM/7 PM Central: Zoey 101 (New Season; The highlight is a genuine bareknuckle BOXING MATCH!)
8;30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Unfabulous

There are good news & bad news!

Good News:

*The Amanda Show is dropped!
*We got a great new puppet show to replace it.
* The interview segments are back (With ASHTON KUTCHER!)
* New Seasons for three shows!

Bad News:
*Bad choice of sponsor (Cinnamon Toast Crunch; If I were the TEENick programmer, I would have told General Mills to bring in Total, Wheaties, or regular Cheerios over the bottom of the barrall CTC. I would have signed a fast food franchise, soft drink, a video game, a comic book or even hair care products as potential sponsors!)

There is also a rumor that Unfabulous is going to be dropped to make room for an animated show to be added to TEENick! The question is: Which of these six shows is best suited to replace Unfabulous if Unfabulous gets dropped?

Sorry I am late for the TEENick updates, but I have some bad news: TEENick will add two more shows to the line-up in January [Naked Brothers Band & Just Jordan]. Unfortunately, both of them are live-action shows of the same kind that we suffered this season. The only ways that live-action could be used on TEENick are in the form of a game show or in reairing one of their better live-action shows of the 1989 to 1997 era [TEENick should not air 'The Amanda Show' again, since it is one of the two worst sketch shows to ever air on the network. The other being the Jamie Lynn Spears episodes of All That!]

It would be better if TEENick either: a. Added an animated show to the line-up. b. Added a game show. c. Reaired something like The Secret World of Alex Mack or The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. or even air reruns of former network shows!

The only two shows on the current season that I liked were Romeo! & Mr. Meaty [which i consider to be the best TEENick show since My Life As A Teen-Age Robot!]

I hope that Nickelodeon cancels Naked Brothers Band & Just Jordan after just a month due to our disgust for that garbage!

6 PM/ 5 PM Central: Drake & Josh (Why would you drop a great show like Romeo! to make room for this doody!)
6:30 PM/5:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (Mr. Meaty is a better show than this garbage! The only way this show will be even remotely good is when they KILL COOKIE OFF!!)
7 PM/6 PM Central: Drake & Josh
7:30 PM/6:30 PM Central: Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide (It is overexposed shows like this that made most of the TEENick line-up dead last in the television ratings since June! [The two exceptions are Romeo! & Mr. Meaty!]. KILL COOKIE OFF!!!!!!!!)
8 PM/7 PM Central: Zoey 101
8:30 PM/7:30 PM Central: Unfabulous

There are no good news that week!

The bad news:
* Romeo! is dropped
*Mr. Meaty is dropped (It is considered to be the best TEENick show since My Life As A Teen-Age Robot!)

Well, Stretch Dude, there are a few reasons why TEENick had a bad reputation as of recently. One was the fact that they rapidly reshuffle their line-up every week, which made fans of certain shows very angry. The only two shows on the current season's line-up that is even remotely watchable are'Romeo!' & 'Mr. Meaty' [In fact, Mr. Meaty is the best TEENick show since My Life As A Teen-Age Robot!]. When the line-up debuted in 2001, it had a really respectable line-up of show [Mostly earlier live-action Nickelodeon efforts, along with the cult-favorite animated show & reruns of a former network show!]. The list of great shows from TEENick's first year goes like this: The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Hangin' With Mr. Cooper [The former network show}, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Kenan & Kel, The 100 Deeds For Eddie McDowd, The Brothers Garcia, Clarissa Explains It All, Caitlin's Way, & Invader Zim [The token animated show]. The first year's line-up had a whopping total of TEN shows that had a respectable following even after cancellation. [It also had one really crummy show, Taina.]
The only really good post-year one show that had any good following was the aforementioned My Life As a Teen-Age Robot!

This year is supposed to be the fifth birthday for the line-up, so I feel that Nickelodeon should do a 'Best of TEENick' event that would not only include the current shows, but also the best TEENick shows from the past five years! If they do not believe such an event would do well, maybe a series of 'Best of TEENick' DVDs would serve the purpose with each DVD featuring four of five great episodes selected from a classic TEENick show!

I will give you more reasons later!

Well, Stretch Dude,

That didn't answer my question in so many ways.

That didn't answer my question in so many ways.
I have a few more reasons for that. The majority of the current TEENick line-up is live-action garbage {The only two shows that are even remotely watchable are 'Romeo!' & 'Mr. Meaty'.]. The rest of the line-up [The Amanda Show, D&J, Ned, Zoey 101, Unfabulous, & the upcoming Naked Brothers Band] tended to be unutterably bad, z-grade, MST3K-fodder productions which succeed for reasons their creators never intended... they are laughably terrible.

The other reason is that most of the TEENick shows [current & former] do not have a home to go to on the other Nickelodeon channels [Now that The N phased them out in favor of Degrassi!].

Also, TEENick tends to be given very few amounts of coverage in most of the mass media periodicals!

I hope I answered the questions!

I may have an answer for that: TEENick may have been overrelying on the same old Archie-style garbage [Even The Amanda Show sucked] & is seemingly avoiding any kind of animated program whatsoever!

J.A.P.

P.S.: We want XJ9! We want Animation on TEENick! The only good TEENick shows so far this season are Romeo! & Mr. Meaty!

I think there is a disconnect between what you write and what he reads.

You write: No one really cares
He reads: Do you have any ideas on why Teenick isn't popular.

It's kind of funny

Well, I feel that most of the current TEENick line-up is one of the worst Nickelodeon line-ups in history [Zoey 101, in particular, makes Super Duper Sumos look like Shakespheare by comparison!].

I felt that TEENick could add an animated series to the line-up for midseason, or [if it is too late for midseason] even the Summer 2007 line-up!
This list of potential candidates are:
*My Life As A Teen-Age Robot (Bring Back XJ9! LONG LIVE XJ9!)
*Invader Zim (Sorry, CDB)
*The Mysterious Cities of Gold
*Shuriken School
* Kappa Mikey (I listed the previous two due to the fact that they are new shows with potential!)
*Ahh!!!!!! Real Monsters (K-C at their best!)
*Kablam!/Ker-Blaam!

(CDB, I am sorry about the omissions of All Grown Up, Doug, & Hey Arnold!)

They should also drop the Amanda Show, & Replace it with any one of these:
You Can't Do That On Television
Roundhouse
All That (The Kenan Thompson/Kel Mitchell years, mind you, not the Jamie Lynn Spears ones!)
The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
The Secret World of Alex Mack
Kenan & Kel
The 100 Deeds For Eddie McDowd

I feel like giving all of you the e-mail address of Nickelodeon Magazine: NickEditor@nick.com

And make sure to name your e-mails as 'Picks For Potential TEENick Additions'.

Thank you!

I think TEENick is in danger once again. Yesterday, they dropped the TEENick line-up in favor for Sponcebob & his ilk. I feel that the main reason for this is that TEENick have had a crummy line-up this season that mostly featured awful Archie-style slapstick garbage (The Amanda Show, D&J, Ned's Declassified Back-To-School Survival Guide, Zoey 101, Unfabulous). The only two shows this season that are any good are 'Romeo!' & 'Mr. Meaty' (which is, in my humble words, the best TEENick show since My Life As A Teen-Age Robot!!!!). Other reasons for the crummyness is that the interview sequences were few & far between, there are few marketing tie-ins, they are still airing bottom-rung Post cereal commercials, & the biggest gripe about the TEENick line-up since June: There are no animated shows, reality shows, or game shows on the line-up (with the exceptions of the occaisional Go Healthy Challenge & Nick News!). I made this gripe due to the fact that the five slapstick garbage shows mentioned above were , IMHO, the WORST SHOWS to ever come out of NICKELODEON!

See you later today for a reason for Nickelodeon to try to retool the line-up to include Animated, Reality, Game Shows, & Classics!

Some old 1990s live-action Nickelodeon show might be coming back on the air soon, but not on TEENick or any of the other Nickelodeon stations!

Kenan & Kel is scheduled to air on Comedy Central in 2007!

Clarissa Explains It All will be joining TV Land in 2008!

Will any of the other great shows come back?

Not only that, but Kenan & Kel will be airing on Comedy Central in 2007!

I have written & sent a letter to Nick Magazine that is devoted to TEENick & has a 'ballot' that will allow readers to vote on which shows THEY would like to see on TEENick in 2007! (Choices include My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, 6TEEN, Invader Zim, Kablam!, Action League Now!, Shuriken School, Kappa Mikey, Wayside, Avatar: The Last Airbender, You Can't Do That On Television, Kenan Thompson/Kel Mitchell-Era All That, Roundhouse, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, The Secret World of Alex Mack, & Caitlin's Way!)
Look for the issue that might have the letter real soon!

Mr. Meaty watchable? Dude, the muppets on the show look like cheap North Korean muppets.

Actually, most of the TEENick fans liked Mr, Meaty so much, that the First Kid's Network has returned it to TEENick! It is the best TEENick show since MY LIFE AS A TEEN-AGE ROBOT!!!!!!!! The only other show on the current TEENick line-up that is just as watchable is the just-debuted Just Jordan!

I hope they bring back MY LIFE AS A TEEN-AGE ROBOT to the TEENick line-up really soon!

Well, last week, we saw the debut of the Naked Brothers Band, one of the worst shows to ever disgrace the TEENick line-up!

The kicker is, they dropped Mr. Meaty, the best TEENick show since My life As A Teen-Age Robot, to make room for the Naked Brothers Band!

Now, the line-up has only two good shows (Just Jordan & the once-struggling but now-blazing Unfabulous) compared to FIVE crap ones (The Amanda Show, Ned, D&J, Zoey 101, & NBB)! I hope when the new season of Unfabulous arrives in April (The third season), TEENick could could bring back better shows like My Life As A Teen-Age Robot, 6TEEN, & Invader Zim!

There are good news & bad news about the changes about to be made to the TEENick line-up in April:

Good News:

The third season of Unfabulous will debut in April. To promote the third season, Emma Roberts appeared in yesterday's episode of The Rachael Ray Show!

Due to popular viewer demand, a classic show will be added to the line-up in April.

The classic series will be the 1988/89-1993 NBC hit series, Blossom!

Bad News:

For some dumb reason, they decide to drop Mr. Meaty to make room for Blossom!!!!

I hope you get all of this down!

J.A.P.

For some reason, they felt that they would give Drake & Josh a video game. It is available only for the Game Boy Advance!

This Past weekend showed that TEENick is once more in danger:

The only TEENick shows aired on Saturday: An episode of Ned's Declassified & the TV Movie Drake & Josh Go Hollywood!

They decided to pre-empt the Sunday TEENick shows in favor of Spongebob reruns!

The commercials are a mixed bag: There are great spots for Dell XPS laptops & Mario Striker Charged, but they are marred with a crappy Kidz Bop ad. The Kidz Bop series absolutely SUCKED!!!!!!!!! Totally Hits is a far better franchise than the Kidz Bop series will ever be!

Is this the end for TEENick?

A new show, ICarly, will debut on TEENick tomorrow!

Many people have already named it the Single Worst New Television Series to Debut on the 2007-2008 Television Season on Any Channel!

Even the gimmick of allowing viewers to submit web videos to be used on the actual show would save it from being a joke around here!

If there were a Noah Knows Best/Just For Kicks award for Nickelodeon Show So Horrifically Awful That It Will Be Guaranteed to Be Cancelled Within a single Season or Less, then ICarly would win that award!

Good News & Bad News For TEENick!

Good News:

TEENick is regularly showing the series Nick News With Linda Ellerbee on Sundays at the 9 PM/8 PM Central timeslot since February 3.

Zoey 101 has been cancelled!

The Naked Brothers Band may actually get cancelled in a few months!

Bad News:
It seems TEENick is in danger of becoming a sunday-only block once again since Nickelodeon is planning to revive their long-moribund SNICK programming block this coming Fall!

Last night, 'Inside Edition' showed a segment on teen pregancy related to the show 'Zoey 101', as it showed some sympathy for the show's star, Jamie-Lynn Spears.

Still, the void left by the show's demise is filled successfully with the debut of the outstanding H2O three months ago.
