There don't appear to be any details about it anywhere else online (not even on his own News page), but the front page of Weird Al's website (http://weirdal.com/) now has a plug for his new album called "Straight Outta Lynwood," complete with a release date of September 26.

Straight Outta Lynwood?
That Weird Al's on the cutting edge of comedy, parodying stuff that came out 15 years ago.
I mean shit, I love Weird Al but still . . .

How much you wanna bet he has a cover of Snoop Dog's " Drop It Like Its Hot " on the album. If its a mostly rip on hip hop and gangsta rap I'll piss my pants laughing. Al's the man...I have his last 3 albums. :)

I still love Weird Al. His video for "Amish Paradise" (based off of Coolio's Gangsta Paradise) was classic.

Maybe it's a topical song and it fit best with music from several years ago. I mean, his last record had a parody of "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. He usually covers several years of material on his albums. I was afraid he would get out of the business for good a few years ago after he had a child and then his parents passed away, so it's good to see him working again.

Well to pop yer bubble he newest song is "You're Pitiful" a take on James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" but right now they are in court over it.

Is Blunt taking himself to seriously, or did Weird Al just not got permission from Blunt's label?

The latter. Blunt initially gave permission, but the label contacted Weird Al and denied permission.

If anyone picked up the new Ren & Stimpy DVD, Al does an introduction to the set stating that John K. is animating a video for his new album.
John K. and Weird Al = Great Entertainment!

Hello to everybody...
I'm new here but I have news on that album if you all are interested
Spoiler ahead:
Lead parody of the album will be "White and Nerdy," a parody of Ridin' by Chamillionaire. The album will also feature parodies of Green Day, R. Kelly, and Usher. The album is rumored to be a DualDisc with animated videos for each original song. Hope this helps. ;)
And "You're Pitiful" will NOT be on the album due to the request of Blunt's record label.

I've heard almost nothing of Weird Al forever, and then, after this thread appeared, I saw a guy wearing a Weird Al Concert T-Shirt in el Pollo Loco, just last night! :p

The man is a genius to keep producing the parody songs. You would think after awhile he would stop but I love the fact he can keep it fresh and vibrant for all his fans and himself.
I hope he goes on forever!

I have all of Weird Al's albums from 1983-1996. And the man is a genius.

Well, that's at least cool knowing Blunt was willing to let do it. Damn record labels! I can't wait to hear "White and Nerdy", that should be pretty damn funny!

I never knew Al's mom & dad was dead. Because on that VH1 special they seemed to really love and accept what Wierd Al and all his quirky music. My funniest thing was when the dad mentioned that whenever he said his last name would go " Like Wierd Al Yankovic ? " :(
