Tom Berenger as 50 year-old Bruce Wayne.
He should've been Batman to begin with. He's the only actor who can play truly angry, vicious, and paranoid enough.
27950
In addition, he has the paramilitary physical conditioning to pull it off.
If you don't believe me, check out his old film Sniper.
Also, I would pick Robert Patrick (who played "T2" from Terminator: Judgment Day) or the actor who played "Stiffler" in American Pie to play Barry Allen as The Flash. They have the lithe physicality and the rapid-fire intelligence to pull it off.
27954
For Green Lantern, I would go with Gary Sinese.
Wonder Woman could only be rightly cast as one female, in my mind: Monica Bellucci, who had the title role in the unspeakably beautiful Italian film directed by Giuseppe Tornatore, called Malena. She also starred in The Matrix films, as "Persephone", and in The Passion of the Christ as "Magdalena".
27951

Wonder Woman's costume should be made to look more like ancient Greek armor, though... much like the way Frank Miller captured it, in The Dark Knight Strikes Again.

You know, I was walking through Barnes & Noble today, and a picture of a certain actor's face had me thinking about what sort of Bruce Wayne he might play.
Ever since I first saw him on the old TV show Silver Spoons, I have always been riveted by his ability to command a scene and other characters, with simply his penetrating gaze. He also has a very strong voice.
The actor? Jason Bateman... brother of Justine Bateman, who played "Mallory Keaton" on the TV show Family Ties.
27948
He is one of the few actors I would say possesses the raw intelligence, presence, and cynical humor to really embody Bruce Wayne. His basic personality is already pretty much Bruce Wayne's.
Also, on a purely superficial level, it should have been obvious before, according to a very simple mathematical formula:
BATEMAN - E = BATMAN !!!!!

"Well she wasn't black either too but that didn't stop Halley Berry."
The character Halle Berry played in the 2004 movie bore nearly no resemblance to the comic version, other than sharing the name "Catwoman."
A more appropriate example would be Earth Kitt, who played the Selina Kyle/Catwoman continuity character on the 1960s "Batman" TV series.

The difference is that Shaquille O'Neal's movie "Steel" was meant to have a likeness to the comic book character. Halle Berry's "Catwoman" movie had practically no likeness to the comic book character, nor were any elements in the movie remotely tied to the character or the Batman mythos.

Smarty:
Halle Berry's "Catwoman" movie had practically no likeness to the comic book character, nor were any elements in the movie remotely tied to the character or the Batman mythos.
You know, I really thought that the movie was done well, but I think the chief problem was in Berry. The Catwoman character itself, has a penchant for a kind of true cruelty and narcissism that Berry just doesn't want to really admit to openly -- much less relish -- on screen or in public. Her inability to really put those qualities to work for the character, is why it failed to me.
This is interesting because, by all accounts in the tabloid press, Berry definitely has a private life in which she is apparently quite devious and ruthless. Perhaps she realized early on in life that she has the kind of "angel face" that only speaks "innocence and kindness" to the eyes of others, and so she plays on that. But perhaps she has the type of personality that cannot handle admitting any ugly truths about
itself. It seems that she has constructed a psychic block whereby that she can avoid any situations that require her to face those truths... and that's why she couldn't comfortably unleash them for her Catwoman role.
Beyond this, I found the Catwoman costume itself to be secondarily awful, although I wonder if it would have been just fine, had Berry herself been amazingly in the right character. I personally found it a little too inathletic to be believable.
The difference is that Shaquille O'Neal's movie "Steel" was meant to have a likeness to the comic book character.
You know, I watched a few minutes of that "Steel" movie awhile ago, and it was amazing just how stiff and uncomfortable Shaq's acting was... It was almost as uncomfortable as the movie's total lack of ambience appropriate to the theme of the character.
It was perhaps even more painful to watch all the actors around Shaq, like Annabeth Gish, trying to stay in character in the face of him being totally out of his character of Steel.
But I suppose the main problem was Shaq himself. I've seen enough of him in real life to know that he has virtually no heroic quality in him whatsoever. From all reliable accounts, he's little other than an incredibly narcissistic, domineering thug and bully... and one of such malignant delusion that he honestly believes that he should be regarded as a "hero" because his ego craves it.

The problem with "Catwoman" is that it was a movie that it didn't even try to be in line with the comic book character -- and the general public has a fair idea who Catwoman is and what she's about. The "Catwoman" name was thrown on merely for name recognition. The fact that Halle Berry is a horrible actress merely added to it.
Here was my suggestion then: Why didn't WB simply have Berry play Vixen? Berry physically is more in line with that character and it's a better personality and disposition fit. It's a comic book character, but not one so commonly known that contradictions would cause a resistance to general public buy-in. Berry's character had feral-type abilities, which Vixen can produce.

Also another factor is that Shaquille O'Neal is not an actor. Shaq cannot be taken seriously in any role except as Shaquille O'Neal making a cameo in a movie.
There is someone I think could play Steel in a convincing manner -- Dennis Haysbert, formerly of "24" and now the star of "The Unit."

My guess is because 1) Catwoman is name that the public knows, 2) Vixen only recently showed up in the publics consciousness via JL:U (though even then I doubt WB is clamoring for a movie about her and I doubt Halle is interested in playing any but A-listers).
I do agree that she would be a great Vixen, though.

All the more reasons to have Halle Berry play Vixen, IMO. At the time, Berry was a more prominent draw and she could have played a superheroine who was a blank slate to the general public -- especially considering there were critics who thought she was a poor selection to portray Storm in The X-Men movies.

I couldnt stand Ryan Reynolds as DP. Not unless you got the Farrely (sp?) brothers to write a script and didnt allow him to ad-lib too much. He's too dependent on his own good looks in most of his jokes. Its always stare-joke-stare-awkward silence-stare. That wouldnt work with DP because hes behind the mask most of the time, and when hes not he would be under heavy make-up.

i like ryan renolds as the flash, if it's wally west. and i think that's happening actually
Hal Jordan- James Mardsen, even though he showed up in superman returns, kinda ruined it. but i think he looks a lot like hal jordan. A LOOOT.

I like Nathan Fillion, but NOT as Hal Jordan! He might be an interesting Guy Gardner, though.
The Joker

Hal Jordan/Superman - Jim Caviezel
(I think Caviezel is an amazing actor. I have faith that he could do both roles justice)
Wonder Woman - Jennifer Connelly / Morena Baccarin
(Connelly would be a great contemporary for Bale. Baccarin if we are going with a younger Diana)
Captain Marvel - Russell Crowe
(hey, I loved Cinderella Man. And if he can turn in a performance that makes me forget about him acting like a wanker in real life, there may be hope for him yet)
Plastic Man - Jim Carrey
(would there be any doubt?)
The Flash/Wally West - Ryan Reynolds
The Joker - Crispin Glover/Guy Pearce
The New Phantom Lady - Monica Bellucci
The Riddler - Robin Williams
Catwoman - Angelina Jolie

AND OWEN WILSON AS BOOSTER GOLD
But that would mean Ben Stiller as Blue Beetle...Luke Wilson as Blue Beetle and Owen Wilson as Booster Gold would be quite good, though.
I could actually see Ben Stiller as Guy Gardner. Not so much in terms of physical appearance, but in terms of playing the character. Seeing Stiller with the bowl cut would be worth it.
And Fire? Scarlett Johansson, of course. (Yeah, I know she'd make a better Ice. But I really want to see her wearing something resembling Fire's original uniform. Have I mentioned that I am a bit of a pervert?)

Booster Gold is not a little funny guy! (sobs)
He's a big, alpha male type, blond haired blue eyed captain of the football team. That's why it's a great contrast that he's a joker and a failure.
The only man who could be Booster Gold... Chris Jericho.

This maybe a weird casting, but I can see Hugh Jackman playing Catman in the Secret Six movie.

Well the reason i picked Lucy Liu is because when Catwoman first appeared in the comics she had a slight asian look to her. Also Lucy Liu seems to play a strong female character pretty well. She also looks good and in the charlies angels movies proved that fight scenes wouldnt be a problem.Honestly i see no better choice for catwoman out there.
Lady Shiva = Lucy Lui or Michelle Yeoh
Cheshire = Kelly Hu or Grace Park

The only man who could be Booster Gold... Chris Jericho. Was this directed at Owen Wilson? Because according to IMDB, Wilson's only an inch shorter than Jericho. I believe Wilson was a bit of a jock as well.
Not that Jericho's a bad choice. But only if Kurt Angle (with hair) got to play Blue Beetle.

Very few wrestlers can act.
The only one who even has acting talent is the Rock IMO.
I'd love to see Jericho as Booster and Angle as BB in a sketch on WWE, though.

Jones is repulsed by super-heroes.
Ten years ago she'd have been perfect for Wonder Woman, though.
Rhona Mitra would make a good WW, too.

I heard it in interviews years ago.
Here's a quote I heard from Comics 2 Film:
Q: Would you ever want to play a character like Wonder Woman?
Zeta-Jones: Not really. I like people who you can believe and not have those stupid powers.

Will Ferrell as the Joker.

Owen Wilson would be an awesome Giffen era Elongated Man as well ;)

Michelle Rodriguez as Montoya, and Lauren Ambrose as Batwoman?

I agree with jade nova that Cary Elwes would make a good Green Arrow. He played Wesley (I think that was his name) in the Princess Bride.
Maybe you are thinking in that movie Robin Hood: Men in tights (1993). Elwes role is Robin Hood:rolleyes:
Better pick would be Dennis Leary.

I think the Dr No era Sean Connery was a perfect physical representation of the Tim Sale Bruce Wayne.
Jim Carey as the Joker: he has become a very good actor i recent years mix this with his comedy stylings he could have ruled as a more comic book accurate interpretation of the character.
Angelina Jolee as catwoman: this has been thrown around a lot but she is one of the very few A list actresses who is both stunning to look at and can really act great when given the right material, just like Michelle Phiffer before her Jolee was amazing in girl interupted.
Ian Mckellen as Alfred: Caine was passable but never really sold me on his alfred Mckellen has the acting chops to have made an amazing alfred he could do the comic elements as well as the more serious moments far better then cockney geezer turned butler caines alfred imo.
Jason Mewes as green arrow: Kevin Smith mentioned this a while ago initialy i thought "no way" but the more i think of the hippy green arrow and watch Mewes in films like Dogma the more i think it could work as a screen adaption.

Let's see... I have a few ideas here and there...
JSA:
Scott Glenn as Jay Garrick
Paul Newman as Alan Scott
Bruce Willis as Ted Grant
Laurence Fishburne as Mister Terriffic
Matt Damon as Dr. Midnite
Kevin Bacon as Sand
Uma Thurman as Black Canary
Brad Pitt as Hawkman
Brendan Fraser as Captain Marvel
and I still think that Owen Wilson would make a great Booster Gold, with either Ben Stiller (good) or Jason Lee (better) as Blue Beetle.
Jim Carrey as Plastic Man
Ed Norton as the Atom
If I think of some others, I'll post later....

Patrick Warburton as Captain Marvel
Morena Baccarin as Wonder Woman
Ryan Reynolds as the Flash
Katherine Moennig as Catwoman
Philip Seymour Hoffman as the Penguin
Lawrence Fishburne as Darkseid
Dame Edna as Granny Goodness
Steve Buscemi as Desaad
John Goodman as RJ Brande
Peter Saarsgard as Tharok
I don't often see an actor and immediately think ... hey, they'd be perfect to play such and such a super-hero.
But the one time it did happen was a couple of decades back, when I saw Jere Burns and I just immediately thought "Oliver Queen" ....
I guess he's too old for the part now but I just thought he looked perfect. A lot of the roles I've seen him in, he plays cantankerous, again, just right for ol' GA.
On some of the earlier posts : I can see why Ben Browder could be a choice for Hal Jordan. I like Browder, I like the parts he plays, but I really don't see him as Hal. I think of Hal as quite intelligent and I don't see that in Browder's parts so far (OK, I'm sure some of you will disagree, that's fine, this is just IMVHO).

The first time I saw "The Right Stuff" I said to myself; "I'll be damned...this movie's got the perfect actors for a CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN movie":
Ace Morgan = Ed Harris
Prof Haley = Scott Glenn
Red Ryan = Dennis Quaid
Rocky Davis = Fred Ward
June Robbins = Barbara Hershey
My personal one was:
Ace = Ed Harris
Prof = Steve Buscemi
Red = Jeff Bridges
Rocky = Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, get it? ;-) or Powers Booth or Fred Ward
My Challengers script idea didn't have June in it. Sorry, June. ;-(
