This news actually surprised me. They seemed like a real and decent couple, as opposed to some of the obvious Hollywood train-wrecks, and I thought they'd work out.

I'm not surpised. Dave Navarro tours often depending which band he's in. Carmen Electra tours. They have been going their separate paths since they've been married. Although, they did a good job exploiting their celebrity. Was it worth it? Given they are divorcing, no, it was not worth the exploitation.

DAifferent lives and careers ended it. The 2 seemed so happy on that MTV show where they got married.

Maybe I just don't watch enough TV, but the unspoken assumption in this thread that we could possibly have any idea what is actually going on in these peoples' lives strikes me as bizarre. The actions and attitudes of people I actually know and have relationships with constantly take me by surprise; why would I think to have any knowledge of the lives of people I only know from brief television clips and magazine articles into which several layers of PR spin and fake image-builing have gone?

(For even more unhip points: I had no idea they were married until I saw this thread. And I still don't care.)

Since Brooke Burke is seperated from her husband.. how long before rumours about her and Navarro start?

I was bummed to hear this too. I loved Carmen and Dave together. I even watched their reality show on MTV when they got married. (I was dating the ex at the time and yes, I dug reality shows.)

I hope it wasn't beause one of them was cheating like so many other couples. I was really hoping the two of them could make it. They were so sweet with each other. I have a crush on both of them so I'm not sure which side I'll fall on. lol.

I didn't think it would last. I liked them together but I was watching Stern when Dave was on there on E! awhile back and Dave & Howard called Carmen to let her bring some chick back to the hotel.

Carmen didn't sound down with wackiness. Probably the lifestyle they led led to a too soon burnout. Besides today I read where she is rumored to dating Jamie Foxx in New York.

I will wait and see on that.

Carmen & Dave exploited their personal lives for the media. How are we suppose to not know? I suppose you could not watch television or hear the radio? It's nice saying their personal lives are none of our business, but when they exploit their personal lives to create wealth, it cannot help be my business. I don't even read any of the exploitation mags or watch any of those "entertainment" celebrity shows.

Sigh...I just saw them a few months ago. Oh, they were happy then. But we all were. Those were simpler times. But so much has changed. Oh, so much.

SIIIIGHHH

This is like Lance Bass' story. I read it, and tried to muster some emotion. I don't feel too much. They did seem like a happy couple.

I agree the the couple did exploit their relationship for publicity.

Hey I was right about the Navarro and Burke rumours.

No sooner is he splitting from Carmen but he's rumoured to be moving in on Brooke. Why do the "press" say this? Because he's always commenting on how hot she is on ROCKSTAR.

Sweet Jesus in a wheelchair people.

How many people had even heard of Dave Navarro before he married one of Prince's castoffs?

RHCPs didn't, at least not when he was "guitarist of the month."

I never cared for his style in RHCP. It has to be Hillel or John. No one else can cut it.

Well, it can't be Hillel anymore, so it's all on John's shoulders. ;)

Sure, but I meant the vapid mouth-breathers who swallow up all that 'celebrity news' crap.

Dave Navarro is a jerk..esp when he's drunk [I know first hand] so Carmen probably didn't want to deal with his crap anymore.

not like she'll have a hard time finding someone new
