Kate Bosworth's portrayal of Lois Lane was bad. Very bad. I mean BAD. And not in the recently coined sense of "cool". I mean in the original, long-standing, reliable, Grade-A 100% sense of just plain not good.

I've never really watched Smallville, but from what I have seen of it, Durance's portrayal of Lois is far superior, especially if you consider that her version of Lois is supposed to be a smart mouthed teenager.

I really like them both. Durance is the little spitfire, free & wild, while Bostworth's Lois is a career woman who's been reigned in somewhat by the neccessities of remianing employed, but further by the requirements of motherhood. They're both quite good, just a "Before & After" of the same woman.

I agree Chloe is the "real" Lois on Smallville, at least in terms of how Lois should act, but I don't know if I buy a believable romance with her and Clark's Smallville character. She's Betty.

At first Kreuk was my favourite "hottie" on Smallville, but over time I realised she's just not worth the hassle for a gf. A fling, sure, but for a relationship Chloe all the way.

Haven't seen Erica's Lois in action yet so I'm undecided about her.

Bosworths' perfromance didn't bother me, though it was a mistake to cast her because she's just way too young for the part the way it was written. And I think she's not Lois, she's better looking than Durance, overall.

The way the characters were written, I liked the animated Lois voiced by Dana Delaney best.

Second would be Margot Kidder's movie Lois.

Third would be Erica Durance.

Kate Bosworth is a great actress, she just didn't have a lot to work with.
