Stan Lee, John Romita Sr., Joe Straczynski, John Romita Jr., Joe Quesada, in a room, answering fan questions. You probably wanna read.

For some reason I simply love that pic of Ditko's Spidey next to Hitch's Iron Spidey. It just shows how far our little webhead has evovled.

Just thought I would point out to anyone that kept arguing it: Stan likes what they are doing with Spidey right now (the unmasking, etc.).

Why would he say any different?

I've never read any interview with Stan where he bashed another creator's work. Stan saying "I like it!" is Stan being too polite to say otherwise. That and he's the Marvel ambasador. He's not going to put down their major event. Think people!

What Musgrave and Nick said, Stan is a diplomat of sorts, he's not going to say 'I hate what Spider-Man has become and JMS is a dipstick!'...at least not in public. Stan is a neat old guy, I'd love to meet him some day, but even if I had the chance I'm horribly shy...

That said, I still would have loved to be there.

Stan Lee is and always will be the best Spider-Man writer.

I wouldn't go that far, but no one's topped him yet.

I really hope to meet him some day soon.

Stan will say anything to make fans happy. In some ways, that's a nice trait of his. In others, it's a little dishonest; but you really can't blame the guy. He's Marvel's most legendary writer. He doesn't want to disappoint anybody.

Anyone else confused by this?

The classic "Spider-Man No More!" cover, with Spider-Man's costume in the garbage can and Parker walking away was not originally intended as a cover: it was to be page 8, admitted Romita Sr.

That's not what the cover looks like. They just described the interior art...

Yeah, they described page 8... Some sort of miscommunication there...

You just proved partly my point. No one's topped him yet and no Spider-Man writer ever will.
