Thank you Gail.
Between the breakfast, the warner Brothers panel, the Wildstorm panel, and Clerks II, this was the perfect day.

In real life, Blue Duck is REALLY QUIET!
I had such a good time. I hope we can do this every convention!

Guess what?
I'm going to San Diego - next year!
I'm making up my plan for going to next year's con as I type, so here's hoping things work out.

No pictures yet?
Sounds like fun. I'd have been there but... well, waiting for baby (still), renovating the house and moving took up a ton of time.
Hope to make it next year!

It was wicked good fun! Gail was charming as ever, her husband is on the short list of nicest people on the edge of comics (I put him on the same level with the wonderful Judith Shaw), her son is quiet but obviously cool, and everybody was great.
It was a great breakfast, and we have to do it again. Maybe next time, Gail will let somebody else grab the check...

Photoshop ? What's wrong with a felt tip pen ?
Lotsa feathers and an evil lookin' goatee should do it.
...Oh and bird mess on the other peoples' shoulders in the photo.

If I was Photoshopped in to the picture, you'd probably have to take three people out. :o
I can't wait to meet some of the YABS guys next year, if I can make it over to San Diego for next year's con.

Apologies for not making it to the YABS breakfast. fly and I learned the hard way that we had to get to the convention center mega-early if we wanted parking. Our CBR social lives suffered for this inconvenient truth.

I summon the regrets!

Missed it all. Missed the breakfast. Missed almost all of Gail's panels. had leave in the middle of the Brave New World panel.
Missed missed missed.
But I had a good excuse.
Next year in San Diego.

Next year for me. The airplane ticket's almost a go and the money's being saved, but the accomodation is in the lacking department at the moment. Disgustingly cheap hostels or something for me!
Awww, sounds like everyone had a great time though.Yay! You lucky bastards. PHOTOS!

I saw this guy walking through the lobby...

Somehow resisted the urge to tell him his bow is strung backwards.

So if Cupid is shooting an arrow from a backward strung bow, does that mean that the arrow causes people to fall into hate instead of fall into love?

So if Cupid is shooting an arrow from a backward strung bow, does that mean that the arrow causes people to fall into hate instead of fall into love?
No, it makes them gay.
Larry Dixon

It makes them afraid. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's fear.

So if Cupid is shooting an arrow from a backward strung bow, does that mean that the arrow causes people to fall into hate instead of fall into love?
If he tried to shoot that bow, the string would come off the ends of the bow and he'd probably hurt himself.

Right you are. I've explained that to a few people myself. It's even in the Bible.

I thought the opposite of love was liquerish.....
But liquerish is derived from liqeur, right?
And everyone knows that there is a positive corrolation between alcohol and birthrate.
So liquerish makes people fall in like at least.

From left to right, back to front:
Kyuubi, Kris (sorry I'm covering up part of your face), Trench, Jess, Gail (who's so cool she can wear sunglasses indoors), Mac, and Merlin.
Me, Gail's son (whose name escapes me at the moment) and Mr. Gail.

What scary is that Kyuubi looks a LOT like me when my skin color is at its darkest during the summer months. I seriously though that photo was me when I first saw it, and I'm not kidding. I wish I had a scanner so I could show you guys just how closely we resemble each other.

I was on strike, and was here everyday of the five days I didn't post. I really tried to get into the whole lurking scene, but alas I have a big mouth and MUST contribute. As for us looking alike, you just wait until I get my hands on a scanner as we really do resemble each other.

Buy a digital camera. You can get a fairly decent one for around $50.00. You can get a piece of junk for $15.00.

Anyway, I just got back from the con this evening (we drove). Thanks again to Gail and Scott for breakfast! And thanks to Alex for posting the picture (and no worries about partially obscuring me - I promise I won't take it personally ;) ). It was much fun, and I'm glad I got to meet all of you!

Sorry I couldn't make it to breakfast. I had meetings of my own, and spending time with friends from NYC and elsewhere I only see once a year. (Plus lack of sleep, exhaustion, and my hotel didn't have air conditioning!!!) UGH!
But glad I got a chance to chat with Gail a bit at the DC booth and the Gays in Comics panel.

Either that or it's the rock star disdain for groupies. I know I would be, faced with that lot! You're all very, very scary people!
One day, I hope to be in a scary groupie photo of my own. *sniff*! Do we have enough people who could make Supernova Sydney?
