They're only one off con sketches, which are almost invariably scratchy little things the artist whipped up on his PC tablet. Weirdly enough they have nothing to do with the regular strip which revolves around a toy store.

And of course the regular strip even has interludes that have nothing to do with the plot at large. Willis doesn't really seem to be pushing the "plot" portion of his comic, more using it to vent about various toy-related issues.

To be fair, the comic was pretty much billed as being about toys so commenting on the matter in the context of strip is perfectly in keeping with the subject of the strip itself. (Such as this (http://www.shortpacked.com/d/20060607.html).) Besides it's a humour strip where plot isn't necessarily the overarching concern.

Oh, I wasn't saying it's a horrible thing, it's Willis' sandbox and he can make whatever castles he wants. Just saying that he isn't too worried over developing characters or anything like he was in It's Walky or Roomies. Talking about toys fits with the comic, but then again willis also made the main character obsessed about collecting the same type of toys he does specifically to rant about them.

I'm still confused by half the stuff he talks about. I'm just a geek who's never collected a toy in my life that wasn't to play with. Gods know what it'd be like to people marginally less geeky than me.

Then again, I am posting this on a comic book forum... :p
