View Full Version : Most Unique Powers In The Marvel Universe
Just curious. What's the most unique power people have seen? Got a few speedsters, few strong guys, few guys who can fly.. Invulnerable. What are the most unique you have seen? Furthermore, what do you think would make a real cool unique power?
Just curious on what peoples think. :D

I thought Maggot was pretty unique . . . and Tag from New X-Men . . . and Surrender Monkey from X-Statix.
But nearly all of these guys are dead now. See where uniqueness gets you?

Scarlett witch is pretty unique (the vague bad luck, not the reality altering)
Marrow was pretty weird.
I suppose come to think of it Spider-man is pretty unique on two fronts.
First off, the Spider-sense is pretty unique. Clones aside that is.
I think that the organic webbing is unique too.

I've always thought Cloak is pretty darn unique.

I always thought Forge had a cool power. He's an intuitive inventor and engineer. It's a fun twist on the standard super-smart/super-tech hero archetype.

Man-Thing: Empaths are pretty rare to begin with... this one has a pyro-chemical reaction to people who are afraid of him.

Taskmaster's photographic reflexes were pretty unique, that is until Echo showed up.
And I don't think I've seen many/any people with a power similiar to Rogue

I'll go with:
Whither: touch of death (he would be a deadly horsemen of Apoc)
If you really think about it they are all pretty unique :p

I was going to say that heh, but I thought maybe not, I think that would be the most useful power. Basically you could make your doubles do everything, send one of your "buddies" off to work, etc.
also useful, psychic powers, time travel or shape shifting heh.

Junta (Manuel Diego Armand Vicente)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junta_(comics)
"His body actually exists in a "gravity well," somehow forcing his body out of synch with reality. In fact, without a way to control the gravity field around him, Danny would implode, drawing him and anything within an eighth-mile radius into a miniature black hole. Because of the intense gravitational forces that are a part of his body, anyone who comes into unprotected contact with his skin will experience severe disorientation and nausea"

Mr. Fantastic's. Eh, eh... *snickers*
Chamber's quite an unique bloke.
I'm a big fan of Junta, by the way. =)
Scarlett witch is pretty unique (the vague bad luck, not the reality altering)
Despite the horrible reality warping misnomer as she is characterized in Avengers Disassembled & House of M, the Scarlet Witch has the mutant ability to alter probability. In other words, when using a hex sphere, she can cause a house to burst into flame. Or she could cause a tree to fall. Instead of the probability of a house flooding is maybe 1/100,000, the Scarlet Witch may make the odds 1/1 with her hex sphere.
Magik: A 15 year old girl who happens to be a mutant teleporter with the ability to move in space & time as well as a demon sorceress who rules Limbo. Magik's mystical armor is interesting given how enigmatic it is even to her. Magik's Soulsword which can destroy spells & kill demons. Magik's strange link to Shadowcat; when Magik ceases to exist or her Darkchilde evil is exorcised, all of Magik's sorceress might is transferred to Shadowcat as shown in The New Mutants #36, Uncanny X-Men #203, & Excalibur #6-7.

So basically she causes vague bad luck...

The Hulk is pretty unique. Gets angry, gets big and strong, and for much of his life cannot control it. At least to my knowledge, his strength is unlimited.
I'll go with:
Whither: touch of death (he would be a deadly horsemen of Apoc)
Wouldn't that be the same as Plague, one of the mutant Morlocks?

I think Multiple Man is pretty unique. I know being able to make duplicate clones isn't something new, but what I think is unique is the fact that when he pulls the dupes back into himself, he gains all the knowledge they have accumulated.

Madrox was Unique, until His PD solo series showed someone else with the same powers, and PD seems to be using the same powers for a baddie in X-factor.
Unfortunately that is the way with most unique characters, they start out as one-of-a-kind, only to be copied later.
But all said, for both unique and personally useful (I'd pick this power) I say it's The Invisible Woman.
I know you're probably all groaning and thinking forcefields?, Invisibility? Unique?, but really, they way she's applied her powers over the years, the amout of control she has, the fact that Galactus specifically sought her out to be his herald, and the fact that, even though it was thankfully dropped later, there was a thing about her tapping into the power of 'hyperspace'.
Anyways, just a thought.

Isn't Mr. Fantastic the only stretcher in the Marvel Universe?
And I'd say Hulk is pretty unique, but then again, for a few periods it was the day/night thing. Plus when he was gray, and the Thing was spikey, the Thing was stronger.

Pretty much, unless you count The Thin Man. I can't think of any others in the MU.

even though he was lame as hell ...adam x 's power to ignite a persons exposed blood was damn unique...he had to carry all those little blades to cut people so he could use his mutant power...
Currently i like Darwin from the deadly x men mini...his power is to evolve to fit any situation ....limitless potential for stories ....

Yeah, I agree about Darwin. Imagine being able to adapt to any situation. Too bad his power is only defensive though.
