As a Doctor who obsessive the Marvel runs of the Doctor Who comics, in both the Uk and Us, in the 80's were some of the first comics I ever bought and still to this day I rank them as my favourites.

What Marvel basically did was take the Comic Strips that appeared in the Doctor Who Monthly Magazine, of which I won every of the 350+ issuess, and put them in a new comic series. The big bonus was they were in colour and the coluring was always top notch.

This was really the golden age of Who comics with the superb Dave Gibbons doing the artwork and amazing scripts from Steve Parkhouse. Doctor who comics never were and never have been again as good as this.

I'll refrain from further comment in case Im talking to myself but basically this can serve as a prompt to get some conversation going about Marvel's Doctor Who comics.

My personal favourites.....The End of The Line, The Freefall Warriors and the amazing Doctor Who and The Iron Legion.

Didn't Alan Moore early in his career also write several Doctor Who strips?

Yes, he did. Several characters he created for it as the Special Executive ended up in Captain Britain.
