My sister is getting married on Saturday. The wedding and reception are both outside. It starts at 3:30 in the afternoon. All three of the kids, and I are in the wedding. It is supposed to be around 104 degrees.

Yup, dog days here, too. And then we had those annoying 5 minutes of rain today, which turned the entire city into one big steam bath for hours. :evilangry

Oh, and I'll be on a podium or behind an info booth all day long on Saturday during the local gay pride. Joy!

104 in Oregon is not like 104 in the South. 104 in Oregon is a little warm.

104 is Arkansas is your flesh melting off your skeleton while you can't breathe because the humidity is so high you need gills.

Why? I want to work in my yard, but It's hot as fuck!

Why would anyone WANT to do yardwork?

Parts of my neighborhood are without power. Powerlines have MELTED. We're running the bare essentials in the house, but I need AC at night, because my room in particular gets up to 100, as the SUN has taken up residence in it.

Your sweat evaporates as it leaves your pores in Australia.

It sometimes makes a little screaming sound.

Canberra has officially hovered around 10 degrees centigrade all week. Add in the wind-chill factor, and we've been crawling up to around 3 or 4 degrees, if we're lucky.

The damn sad part is, we almost never get snow. We SEE it all the time, on the ranges around the city, but we never get it ourselves.

CURSE THIS ANTI-SNOW REGIME!!

Well, it's a brisk and windy 12 degrees centigrade here. So not too bad at all. Enjoy the summer, suckers :D

That being said, we will probably DIE come December. It will be karma, and it will be grand.

We in the scientific community refer to that phenomenon as "boiling."

Not to be confused with boils.

How often do you mow the lawn. For me it was every two weeks. If it rained a lot I had to get out there quick. When grass gets thick mowing gets ugly!

Thank goodness for the slight overcast today at work in Santa Monica and in NoHo. And with everyone doing laundry today, the palatial estate is about 110 right about now.

It's not too bad in southwest Ohio. I've been able to do the mile walks to work without much trouble.

See, this is karma too. My state sucks the ass, but heat doesn't murder us. California, by comparison, is awesome, but the awesomeness is now offset by the fact that most Californians are working their way to medium rare. Hah! I'd almost declare victory, but my state still sucks ass and your state will be cool in a few months's time. :(

I've been trying to renovate and move next door for two weeks and the heat is just killer. Makes it much harder to find help and it seems like we all move about three times slower. We've tried to only do things in the morning, but that only gives us a few hours before it heats up.

Damn you Summer!

I feel really bad for the people in California who are suffering through the heat with no power.

Summer in the Southern states is like being slowly roasted on a spit, but at least they don't kill the air conditioning on us.

It's actually been pretty nice this week.

Thanks, I've had some rolling blackouts in the past few days. Not fun at all. And work's been terrible. One conductor blows out so our coolers were fucked and no product sold....shitty weather and shitty business.

And I need to jump in the shower at least 3 times a day before heading to bed.
