Funny I just got around to watchin Tom Yum Goong last night.
While neither have much of a plot Ong Bak has a better story but Tom Yum has better action and if your a fight fan your not going to notice or even care about the lack of story, the action is just that good.
Tom Yum Goong:
The film starts off slow but once the action start it like it doesn't till the very last frame. This movie is like watching a video game come to life complete with minor thugs and boss type characters.
Highlights are Tony Jaa against thugs on rollerblades and motorcycles. Tony fighting his way up a long spirling walkway that's last about 4 minute with no cuts. My favorite Tony vs. a Capoeira fighter, a Gung Fu Sword fighter and ex WWE wrestler Nathan Jones. I've been to Brazil twice and this film has the best representation of of true Capoeira that I have seen in a movie, amazing fight scene!!! The last fight begins with Tony showing off his breaking ( arms and legs ) skills that should make the MMA guys happy:D . There are more broken bones he that an old Steven Seagal movie. Follow by another fight with Nathan Jones and a couple of more wrestling types; Tony put to use elephant bones in a very unique way to fight this battle.
All in all a great fight movie, like I said not much on plot but you're not going to care once the action starts.....Oh yea there is a quick cameo by Jackie Chan also, check this film out:D .
