View Full Version : Diversity-War
I gotta say that I am jazzed to see alot of Black Characters being used for this crossover, as A comic reader of over twenty years I cant remember ever seeing more than two Black characters being used for a major comic event.
I do however, have an issue with most of the Black Heroes being anti-reg, it kind of re-enforces the stereotype of Black people being hostile to authority.
also the lack of any female leaders so far seems conspicuous (not counting Com. Hill) A perfect solution whould be to bring Storm into the conflict on the side of pro-reg, It kills two birds with one stone.

Except Storm being pro-reg would be even more out of character for her as it is for several of the other Pro-Reg heroes. :P
But when has past characterization ever stopped Millar from shoehorning things the way he wants them?
Even so, Storm's kinda busy planning her wedding right now, and I suspect both she and Black Panther will have little to do (directly) with Civil War.

Bishop is pro-reg isn't he?
But yah, the lack of female leaders is rather glaring (interestingly the two most prominent, Ms. Marvel & She-Hulk, are both pro-reg.)

There really aren't that many prominent female leaders in the Marvel U, anyhow. Storm's definitely an exception rather than the rule. Emma Frost might qualify, too, but she's more of an "administrator" than a battlefield leader. Sue Storm and the Wasp have both led their respective teams, but generally those instances were mostly temporary affairs, and neither gained a particularly distinguished "reputation" for leadership during said times (which isn't to say they necessarily did a bad job, just that no one started comparing them favorably with folks like Captain America, Cyclops, Reed, etc...)
The lack of female leadership is not unique to Civil War, in other words.
