View Full Version : Major Revelation in Civil War 3 for New Avengers!

Alright, without giving anything away, there is a major confirmation for one of the concerns we have been discussing here in THIS forum for several months now.
The latest issue of Civil War that has just come out makes it clear, without question that a major hero in the 616 Marvel Universe is now involved in Civil War.
Don't read the next line if you don't want it spoiled... but contrary to all our expectations... Daredevil appears in the midst of battle with the New Avengers... and if that wasn't enough.... it is clearly shown to be Matt MURDOCK with his RED HAIR and GLAZED EYES sitting with a disguised Cap, Hercules, and Black Goliath at a diner table.
Just how they figure to explain this one remains to be seen!!!

You should read Daredevil. When Matt was send to jail and other guy resume the identity. Cable & Deadpool #30 gives us a hint on who the imposter is.

Yeah, I thought that was just me, but "Cooper" appeared to have been able to see.

Yea it's pretty good evidence in CnD#30 who is it.

Is the title of this thread fitting? I mean, the Avengers in Civil War #3 were the Secret Avengers not the New Avengers.

Unfortunately, Matt Murdock is clearly shown to be in prison in a series called Daredevil.

Exactly my point!
Either Marvel screwed up... or we're going to discover that its a VERY good disguise this guy is wearing... and why doesn't the general public recognise him then, and out him?
I guess I've got to go read C&D #30.... maybe it will be come more clear....
(And yes, I chose the thread title very carefully... anybody who read Civil War 3 will get the little joke I pulled....)

Man, what a good point Kirk G. I mean, Matt is pretty much known to everyone by now. For sure they would have recognized him if it were Matt.

He's wearing a red wig and dark glasses.
Aside from the fact that he's a white guy, what points to him being Matt Murdock?

I still think the Civil war DD is Matt Murdock, who's out of prison. We know he's escaping next issue anyway. Punsiher is escaping with him, and he's going to be featured in the war.
It doesn't take that much dancing to pull it off. DD can be set 'now' just a few days early. It hasnt beeen all that long at all since CW started and the heroes had their joint meeting, so realistically, the DD book being a week or two behind would make it all fit.

He's going to Europe in his solo.
It's not him.
We're pretty sure we know who it is...that, or we really took the bait.

How long ago did Cable and Deadpool #30 come out?
I can't find a copy. How obvious was the clue?
My friend who used to love Deadpool denies that it could be him, cause the guy isn't killing people.
Any other theories, guys?

It came out on Wednesday. The clue was pretty obvious (after people pointed it out on the website). It's so obvious that I think they are just trying to throw people off.
As for not killing, people change. I think it is still the same ole Deadpool.

Nope. The imposter has appeared in the pages of Daredevil while Matt is still in jail.
It's two different people.

For those of us that don't have C&D #30, can you spoil it?
(In SPOILERS [] of course)
Thanks.

The person disguised as Daredevil is
Iron Fist
The clue was that Deadpool recognized Daredevil's style of fighting. He felt that it was familar to that of someone he fought recently. Before he could say who it was, Cap hit him with his shield.

It looks like DP has been taking a few lessons from Taskmaster then.
Though it makes sense since
Luke Cage
is also on Anti-Registration. This continues to confuse me as aren't they both members of
Heroes for Hire?

Why? Whats Taskmaster got to do with it?
Deady gets hit with the exact same move he did not long ago and then makes a very similiar quip and goes "Wow Veja Du"
Even Deadpools not that stupid, plus I have never seen Matt use that move.

Hi... I'd like to introduce you to the concept of SPOILER TAGS in a thread. It means people like me who don't want things spoiled don't get the stories ruined by inconsiderate posters such as yourself.
This thread was on Civil War 3... so any upcoming plot points in future issues or issues of other titles SHOULD have had some warning.
Please be more considerate in the future.

No, he's never read a Daredevil comic in his life. He's just upset about an issue being spoiled in case someday, far in the future, he decides to start.

No, he's a white kid in the Ulti-verse.
There was, for a very short time, an Asian criminal who stole Iron Fist's powers. As far as I remember, he only ever appeared in a New Warriors arc and the Wolverine/Iron Fist mini series.

His powers can be stolen? I thought he can do the "fist" because of training through martial arts?

I forget the specifics, but I think the bad guy (Junzo) was similarly-trained. He stole the powers with some mystic K'un L'un mumbo-jumbo.
He may actually still have the powers, because Danny's "iron fist" was restored by a different bad guy named the Black Dragon later on in Black Panther. I don't think it was revealed if the Dragon transferred the powers from Junzo back to Danny, or just gave Danny new powers altogether.

Hay, even a B (maybe C) lister like Danny has a crazy power storyline. Thanks for the info man.

My pleasure. Just don't knock yourself out looking for the trade paperback, because you won't find it, because they never made one, because the story wasn't very good. ;)

I'm really surprised that no one tumbled to the fact that this thread was intentionally written to mis-direct the big revealation in Civil War #3... That I intentionally misdirected to a d ifferent character than was revealed at the end!

Thank you for the pannel scans, DoomHammer. I would not have known about it otherwise. (All four of my local comic shops order ONLY the minimum pull list, and if it sells out on their shelf, well, too bad....
A symptom of our times, I am afraid...)

The other DD has to be Iron Fist. I mean, look at the Cable/Deadpool issues. Deadpool says his moves look familiar. he is in the Avengers building with all the other heroes, flipping a coin, so everyone must know who he is, and everyone is okay with Iron Fist. If it was Hawkeye, then people would ask questions. Just my opinion.

It isn't true until we actually see it. Marvel is known for playing tricks. This could be a very big one.
