Did anyone else laugh at this scene in IC 7?

I thought that was really funny. Was I the only one?

I found it funny. The way he calls him "monster." is funny. And just the whole 2 dimensional cornball aproach Kal-L has there. I also laughed because it was just such a put down for such a big bad ass.
Also so many good guys had bit the dust by IC7 that it was uplifiting to have such a big gun twatted so quickly. So I also laughed with joy.

I'm not sure you'll get too much of a thread going here though. Maybe you should have broadened it out to a more general question, like - what made you laugh whilst reading IC? Sure, plenty of posters will use the thread to dump negativity on the whole project but that can be fun too.

It was amusing and sad in equal measures; as much as I liked it, I couldn't help but feel disapointed that Doomsday had such a kick-ass reapperance in Villains United only to be squashed by the two Supermen in one two-page spread.

Yes! That was exactly what I thought was so funny about it. And also the way Doomsday's hand's is like bigger than E2 Supe's whole head, but he still just sees him as some "monster." When Doomsday first appeared he was a big threat because he killed Superman, but E2 Supes called him for what he was, just some monster. It's almost insulting since he should know that it's called doomsday!

I chuckled at this sequence because it was kind of heart-warming. Thats not exactly right, but its the same way I felt when Superman lifted the island in SR. Its just like hes such a becon of hope that nothing can stop him. I know thats lame but thats how it felt to me.

I found it amusing to see Doomsday totally get his clock cleaned, also in another way.

"Sales Boosting Plot Device 90's meet Sales boosting Plot Device 2006. FIGHT!"

Ok, I have a werid sense of humor. Cause the part at Stonehenge made me chuckle a bit too.

I loved the scene. The 2 Supes beating down on Doomsday was on of the big IC highlights for me.

I can definitely see the heart-warming humour in the scene, but my reaction was more along the lines of "hell yeah!"

I thought that scene was really dumb, and indicative of a tred in IC where Johns wrote in a bunch of scenes that are supposed to be cool but don't really make any sense if you think about them.

I get that he was trying to write E2 Superman kind of like Alan Moore wrote Original Supreme... but, you know. He's no Alan Moore.

And am I the only one who would say stuff like that in combat as a super-hero?

Earth-2 Superman hated Doomsday. That was pretty much the one really big thing I got from the three-issue ACTIOn/ADVENTURES/SUPERMAN tie-in.

When Superman says, "I don't think so, monster!", keep in mind that Superman is being written badly if he's not a little square and that what Kal-L said was the polite way of saying, "Go back to Hell, you piece of $#!&. I'm here to !^@& you up and make you bleed!"

Frank Miller might even have written it the latter way.

But "I don't think so, Monster" shouldn't be read like it's the Tick or Mighty Mouse saying it. It should be read like this is a guy who's really ticked off and doesn't use profanity. But the profanity is there, just beneath the surface, in the tone of his voice.

The parts that made me laugh were Alex Luthor's "editorial updates" exposition speeches. "Earth-8 would have been the home of Jason Rusch! Batman's parents' killer was caught!"
