Bruce Wayne or Slam Bradley Who Is the Father?

Okay with the revealing issue out in stores this wednesday i'm taking a poll as to who you all think fathered Selina's baby girl. Both men have appeared in the series since it moved one year later so i'd say it's one of the two

Why I think it's Bruce. Because if anyone other than Batman knocked up Catwoman people would say she is a slut. (not my opinion but you all know that she would be looked down on. Plus Bruce ponyed up the cash for any college the girl wants to go to. Finally it's continuity. the girl is named helena for petes sake. sure huntress is still helena bertinelie but if you are going to give catwoman a daughter named helena you had better make the father bruce. It's got to be Bruce's kid.

Why I think it's slam. they absolutely cannot give batman a biological child. the same way they can't give clark and lois a kid the same reason they can't give peter parker a kid unless it is in an alternate reality. it just won't work. plus bruce just adopted tim and Morrison has got this whole Batman and the son arc coming. it would be over kill. It's got to be Slam's kid.

You haven't been following Catwoman have you? Because if you had you would not be making a silly statement about 'if anyone other than Batman knocked up Catwoman people would say she is a slut'. Why would Catwoman be a slut? Since when were she and Bruce a couple? Also if Bruce were the father, I think that he would pony up for more than simply her education. He would have taken financial support for her as well. He hasn't even held the child. Also Bruce has been out of the country for a year. It takes 9 months to make a child. Highly unlikely that he's the father.

Much for the same reason the baby is probably not Bruce's neither is the child's Slam's. Slam's entire attitude was stand offish or formal when he picked up Selina from the hospital. He loved Selina to death, if the child was even remotely his he would have said something.

In all likelyhood the baby belongs to Sam Bradley Jr. Obviously something happened between him and Selina.

they were sort of dating during Hush and during Infinite Crisis Earth Two's Superman told bruce that in his world, Bruce and Selina got married and had a daughter. Bruce has been gone a year yeah. but did he and Selina hook up before he left (probably not since it showed him leaving.) As for giving Selina money for everything else. Maybe she told him not to. It's not like she is hurting for cash.

I really hope it isn't Slam Jr's kid I don't know who it is going to be. I really want it to be Bruce's but I doubt they will be that bold.

I don't know where you came up with 'most' people. I love Selina. But I don't see her as a perfect match for Batman and there are several other people who feel the same way. There have been other women with whom he has been more heavily involved with Talia, Silver and Sasha, just to name a few. For the most part Bruce and Selina's relationship seems to have been along the lines of 'friends with benefits'.

Even if this were all true. You can't ignore the factor that Bruce didn't even make an attempt to hold the baby. Family means the world to Bruce. If Helena was his he would have made every attempt to be a part of her life. He grew up without a father. I don't think he would do the same to his child.

Bruce'll have enough familial problems soon enough. Adding a daughter to the mix won't help any. As for it being Lil' Slam's kid, I really hope not. Doesn't he already have a kid? Unfortunately, given her soliloquy a couple issues back, if it isn't Batman, Slam Sr., or Wildcat (for whatever reason), it's gotta' be Slam Jr. or some other random police officer or super hero.

To be honest......Imo, i'd love for it to be Bruces kid. Selina Kyle having children by any other than Batman/Bruce Wayne is a crazy idea............Then again, i said the same thing about PP unmasking. Crazier things have happened, but i would want the babies father to be Bruce. It won't though, due to DC never wanting to shake the status quo.

I don't think it's Bruce due to a number of points -

(1) He's only made a social call.

Say what you will, this is a very possessive individual and control freak who keeps a close eye on *everyone*. If he suddenly had a child, no matter what his current status concerning his relationship with the mother, he would be sticking around like white on rice.

There could have been a number of ways he could have hung around Selena without compromising his identity. 'Someone' with a beer gut and comb over would be making loud noises at her apartment. Hell, barged his way into the operating theatre, and took her hand by force. (there could have been a humourous scene of the two verbally abusing each other while the stunned attending Doctor tries to interrupt to ask her to push)

Instead, he shows up with a teddy. Probably Alfred picked it.

(2) He did give the kid an unlimited college scholarship.

In an issue where the storyline was a 'Day In the Life of Bruce Wayne', he gave a scholarship to a Wayne Industries mail room clerk simply because he worked there.

I suspect that Bruce Wayne giving out a college scholarship, expensive as they can be in America, is similar to the uncle who hands you a tenner at your birthday.

There are other things he could have given the fruits of his loins.

Unlimited Credit Card? An apartment at one of Wayne Industries many buildings? A penthouse? Why not a room at the manor? Yes, Selina would quite possibly reject them, but Bruce would keep on trying. He is a persistent fellow. Not to mention a sneaky bastard.

(3) Bruce may not know it's his.

"I did her ... then nine months later, she has a kid. Alfred, do you think there's a possibility ... ?"

I suspect the man can do arthimetic.

Granted, Selena might say something like "Oh yeah, you were Thursday afternoon then." However, he does have access to DNA sequencers.

Well, that's my contribution to the debate.

Though I do hope it's Bruce, I'm leaning the other way at the moment. The kid's been born - Batman would have already gotten a DNA sample. He would have had it before the hospital :D

There are thousands of reasons why Selina would lie to Bruce about him being the father. Likewise, it's not hard to believe that he knows he's the father, but has his own reasons for playing along and keeping his distance. Let's see how this story plays out.

Honestly, DC is not going to incur the wrath of millions of Catwoman fans by making someone other than Batman the father of her baby.
