I picked up Beyond the other day and I am a bit confused: SPOILERS:

Basically it is the same storyline as the Secret Wars back in the 80's. Same Beyonder machine, same Beyonder, same "destroy your enemies and your wildest dreams will come true." Medusa, Venom, Kraven, Spiderman, and a couple other folks.

Is this a new Kraven? From what I know, Kraven's last hunt was his last hunt thanks to splattering his brains out with his rifle. Has he been cloned or brought back to life?

Thanks!

Screw destroying my enemies, I can get the same results by voting for Pedro! Duh!

As for Kraven, I think that's Al Kraven, son of Sergei. He appeared in a seven-issue mini called "Get Kraven", a superhero parody of Get Shorty.

Yes, it's as bad as it sounds.

Alyosha Kravinoff is the son of Sergei, who did indeed blow his own brains out in Kraven's Last Hunt. He originally appeared in Spectacular Spider-Man volume one somewhere around issue #250 as a feral, unpredictable character but somehow became the slick operator we see now ("Al" Kraven) in the Get Kraven mini-series, which I have not read but was apparently really not good.

I paid like 20p an issue and still felt ripped off. The worst comic I've personally even seen.

It is Al. He seems to jump between smooth operator to Kraven-clone... oh and from bad to good guy. I'm not sure what he is now,

Kraven the Hunter's son, Alyosha Kravinoff, was created by J.M. DeMatteis (the same guy who killed off the original Kraven in the Last Hunt story) about a decade ago. After the reboot Kraven II basically became a carbon copy of his father until Ron Zimmerman came along and completely changed “Al Kraven” personality a third time. Dwayne McDuffie seems to be using the third version of the character in Beyond.
