First of all I would like to say hi bcause i'm new to the forums.

Iv'e always been a big Danzig fan (atleast musically) and was excited a few months ago when I heard he had his own publishing company. I started buying really cheap back issues on ebay, and after reading Satanika, Igrat, and a few others I've come to realise that the entire line is nothing but smut.

Their comics do follow some kind of story but it gets sidetracked by sex scenes that occur every other page, then if the main character isn't in some type of bizarre bondage situation they are splitting someones head open and feasting on the brains. Verotik claims to write for adults but the only people that would read it are perverts and serial killers.

So what are your thoughts on Veortik?

Danzig is a person who currently sings in a self titled band, he also sang for the Misfits and Samhain. I wasnt expecting to be blown away but I was atleast expecting some type of comic, instead I got porn. Yeah I should have known but I didn't think Danzig or Frazetta would back something that was so terrible.

It took me reading one issue of the verotik line to realize it was mind numbingly retarded. I respect Glen Danzig as a songwriter and performer. On the flip side I realize that his comic books are a real low point of his creative output. When I listen to his music I like to pretend that these abomible abortions in comic book form don't exist. These books don't sound so bad that they are good, they are just bad.

oh man, when did those come out? late 90's? I bought 2 or 3 issues, when I got home I was really saddened at how low brow the material was. Not that I wasnt suprised, but it wasnt even good at presenting explotation in an exciting manner (And I love trashy movies and the like). The books were just boring.

I dont recall seeing the danzig comics line around much longer after that. The last thing Danzig did that I enjoyed was when he got punched and the video was broadcast all over the internet :D

I work at a comic book store and recently bagged and boarded a short box full of Verotik books. You are right they are dumb. I some times like excessively violent books like Punisher Max and disturbing situations like those in Stray Bullets the only difference with those books is unlike Verotik they are used in a way to advance story not just shock for shock sake. I've never seen a single Verotik issue be sold where I work. So I guess the masses at least have a little sense of taste.
