I'm looking for a batman/superman elseworlds crossover, it featured a few of the elsewrodls annuals, notable:
Steel as Slave John Henry, fighting the oppressive slavemasters
Batman as Leatherwing, a pirate
Supes as a the grandson of a previous kryptonian who descended during the days of american independence, and is now dictator in 1700's america.

please help, I would love to find this little elseworlds gem!

It's a trade entitled Superman/Batman Alternate Histories

Good lord. They actually reprinted "Pirate Batman" in trade?

I remember liking "Citizen Wayne" quite a bit, though.

I loved Citizen Wayne. It was by far the best story in that Trade.

They spoiled the ending on the back cover blurb though so be careful anyone who hasn't read it yet

Hey, don't diss Pirate Batman. He was a pimp! :)

The stories in those DC elseworld annuals weren't exactly the best.

I liked the superman/superboy story though , with the alien invasion with earth becoming a hellhole. Batman left as the only superhero fighting the good fight while the rest of the heroes were killed/exiled/dissapeared/forgotten. Pretty good story , art wasn't that great though.

I liked that one too. In the back of the Superman/Batman: Alternate Histories tpb, it mantioned a couple of TPBs as "coming soon" that never surfaced. One looked like it was probably going to be a TPB of that story. (IIRC it was called The Super Seven or something like that). The other one was called Superman/Batman: Alternate Futures and was presumably going to be a selection of stories from either the Legends from a Dead Earth annuals or the Armageddon 2001 ones.

It's kind of unrelated, but I just searched google to see if there was any information on these books and it brought up the post that I'd just posted - probably less than a minute after I posted it.

I'm impressed!

IIRC, Alternate Futures *was* indeed released.

I just had a search around and you're right. It's called Alternate Destinies and somehow I completely missed it

[edit] - Actually I'm not convinced. There's not a single picture of it on Google Images despite there being several for Alternate Histories
