for those of you that have heard both, which do you prefer?

Elfman's Batman or Hans Zimmer's theme (Molossus i believe it is called)

Elfman's by far. Much more iconic, like William's Superman theme.

I don't think I could pick a musical track from Batman Begins out of a lineup.

I loved the Batman Begins soundtrack. Zimmer and Howard are the two best going today and delivered something powerful but understated (like the film).

They both suck.

Worse yet, they suck and are pretentious too.

Give me the works of Neal Hefti any day.

BB.

I only like the 89 theme during the beginning credits of the first Batman. That's my favorite opening credits scene of all-time.

In terms of a theme, the 89 movie is superior, but in terms of an overall soundtrack, I prefer Batman Begins.

Batman '89 definitiely. Have a much iconic take and a darker feel (which i prefer) to it. I was half expecting BB to have that Batman '89 theme song, giving me that nostagic feel which i later felt in the opening of Supes Returns.

Absolutely 'hair raising' (in a good way), and those childhood memories of both Superman I & II (which are my favorites) inevitably flood back. Soundtrack & theme song, is absolutely crucial to such movies; its like Darth Vader's Imperial March which brings the Dark Lord's presence, feel and impact.

Two words: Danny Elfman.

Danny is f:eek:cking amazing!

He would win hands down but... I think we all know the 60's tv series had the superior theme song.;)

I actually liked the opening credits of Batman Returns the best.

I liked the main theme from BB, but it hardly appears on the soundtrack.

The above statement is what I would have said if I had said it first.

Definitely Elfman. This music is synonymous with Batman for me, dark and brooding, moody and atmospheric, but bold and powerful at the same time. Elfman's theme sums up Batman perfectly, much like Williams music defines Superman.

Zimmer soundtrack is very good, but I don't think it's holds up to Elfman's work.
