What new gadgets do you want to see in BB2?

I don't think the Batplane or Batboat can ever realistically work in Chris Nolan's "Realistic as possible" take on Batman. I hope we never see them.

What is Bruce going to do? Go back to Wayne R&D and all of a sudden Morgan Freeman (playing L. Fox) says "Guess what, Bruce? The military made this awesome, battle-ready plane, but then at the last second, decided not to use it. Oh that silly military! And they made this high-tech battle boat. I'll let you have that too. It's all for free. Here ya go!"

It would just be really silly for Freeman's character to keep handing over to Bruce Wayne all these billion dollar vehicles. If he did it once, for the Batmobile, that's okay, but to continue the trend would just be ridiculous.

Plus, if Batman was soaring the skies in a fighter jet, realistically, the US Government would call in the Air Force to shoot him down.

He would be a threat to national security.

As for other gadgets...

I think the gadgets Batman uses should be compatible to the villain he fights. For example, if he fights Clayface, he should have anti-freeze handy so he can freeze Clayface's clay molecules. So if the Joker is in the sequel, he would need anti-Joker toxin.

I would like to see more detective gear, like goggles to let him see fingerprints on walls, desks, etc. night-vision goggles. In Batman: The Animated Series, Batman used a lot of phone taps and tracking devices when trailing moving vehicles. These are all realistic things he could use.

Yeah would be cool if they could work that into a movie, he is after all detective. I guess its cheaper though to throw some gadgets in though instead of more on a really well written story.

Personally I want to see batman get beatup and someone go to grab his mask and gas shoots out of a couple holes in the side and hits the guy in the face.

I want three types of gadget for Batman.

1: (And always carried) - general purpose gadgets. Batarangs, pin-bombs, smokebombs and flashbangs, the grapple, thin rope, lockpicks, a tiny folding telescope. All with more than one use and all small and light enough to fit in the utility belt (or gloves). None of them particularly special.
2: Special equipment - relatively bulky. Breathing apparatus, night vision and telescopic vision goggles, etc. Only brings on special occasions.
3: Specially made equipment: Thermal exosuit (for Dr. Freeze), antivenom (for the Joker or Poison Ivy), a bag of coins (for Harvey Dent), etc. Specially made or commissioned by Batman half way through the film to deal with his enemy.

Specific, prep wizard type stuff. Like if he fights Freeze, for instance, he could have Lucius come up with some sort of fast heating gas compound that could protect him from freeze blasts. Or if he fights Clayface he could have eye lenses that can detect the heat signatures of certain compounds so he could see Clayface.

the Batplane could be like a modified stealth bomber bought through backchannels on the black market.

other than those things, Detective skills. Its not that hard. make the main story plot be in some way a mystery, and have Bruce solve the mystery. For some reason basically every single Batman movie ignores this aspect of the Bat, even though its an integral character element

Batplane/sub: Lucius could show him something that was around during the first, but Bruce didn´t need it. It should be multi-versitile, as it would make more sense.

Night vision lenses: in his cowl, like in the comics that slide into place when he needs them

Electro-pulse: built into his costume so that if someone tries to unmask him, they get zapped

Lock picks

Mini-cameras

Finger-print powders

DNA testing materials

hmm. i'd like to see him with some sort of gadget that lets him swing around the city instead of glide. i'm also hoping to see some lab/detection equipment set up in the cave and a Batman that will know how to use it.

A kryptonite powered suit of armor, so he can go to metropolis and save that city from the alien invading it. Then he can take in the alien's half human son, make him his ward, and bingo ROBIN.






Just kidding, I do think a "higher tech than most" helicopter, boat, and motorcycle can be done. Let's remeber, L.Fox knows who he is basically, they can have Wayne Foundation brains cook it up(using the lots of scientists on different things angle). And go through different manufacturing companies to make them, like the mask.

I like the idea of small things like lock picks and wire taps and all that. He's got to have SOMETHING in that belt of his.

Maybe some sort of acid or gas or...something that makes a good looking chemical reaction (depending on villain, as people've pointed out).

I've always been a fan of the bola, so maybe he could use that.

Rubber bullets for taking down a full scale riot, like in The Cult.
Venom. Lets see him get addicted to it and then kick it, like in the LOTDK story.

I could really do without most gadgets. I don’t mind things like flash bangs, smoke bombs, lockpicks, small detective kit or normal Batrangs. Planes, trains and submarines is caring it a little too far since this is still very early in his career. I wouldn’t mind anti toxins or specialty items to deal with villains only after he faced off with them once or knows about the threat and has it analyzed.

The last thing I want is to see him fighting clayface for the first time and whipping out his trust Cyro Batrang to freeze him or a thermal one to face Mr. Freeze.

If anyone seriously wants to see shark repellent in a can go watch the garbage that is the Adam West Batman. I want this one run of movies to be as “realistic” as possible. They gave us Ra’s without the mention of the Lazarus pit and I applaud them for it.
