The Gluttony cover's pretty strong, I'll give it a flip through on release day and go from there.

It would be interesting to see what kind of story they have especially when it'll get down to the very end. I loved the movie so I'm pretty much going to buy them all good or bad. I'de love to see what they would do when it gets to 'Lust', that was probably my most disturbing death.

David's doing the interiors for the SLOTH #3 issue now.
Book will be in stores on September 13.
And it most definitely does not suck. Even being bias as the writer of the first issue, the first issue came out great.

1, it's too bad there are multiple artists. You lost me there.
2, it seems like the movie all over agian, with the stuff we didn't get to see. Which is kinda the anti-hitchcock. Lost me here too.
3, why should I care about this book? I've seen the movie. So what now? Sell me.

1. Each artist is outstanding.
2. My issue, #4, will show the origin of John Doe. We're talking the events that made him who he is in the movie.
3. It's going to be a very cool series with great writing and art. I hope you'll check it out.
Thanks for your interest!

ok. I'll give it a look on the rack, but I promise nothing!;)
It sounds fun. I like the movie, and back story/seeing the crimes be commited is kinda cool, even if the anti-Hitchcock.
Who are all the artists, by the way?

I love this series.
It's sick and disgusting. The writers seriously know how writer like a psychopath. I just wish Greed kept the same dark art and theme that Gluttony had. Other than that, it's insane.

Since Sloth was delayed a couple of weeks, will issue 4 (Lust) still be out on March 28th?

Since my shop didn't get any of Issue 5 Pride (they better have it next week), I decided to re-read Issues 1-4 and do a quick mini-review for each book.
SPOILERS BELOW:
Issue 1: Gluttony
The artwork was great, and you feel sorry for the fatman because you see what his childhood was like. He really wanted to change his life, but let little things throw him off course. Out of the four books so far, this is the best one so far in terms of the sin and the extra info we get on the character.
Art: 10/10
Story: 10/10
Issue 2: Greed
The artwork for this issue has a more comic book feel to it, but still looks good. I personally hate Lawyers, so I didn't feel any remorse for the guy in this issue. He was scum plain and simple. I liked how John went to him for help and he refused. Just made the penance all the more sweeter. You feel sorry for that family that had to leave their apartment, but in the end our Lawyer gets his negative Karma for that and all other evil deeds that he commits.
Art: 8/10
Story: 8/10
Issue 3: Sloth
The worst issue of the four so far. The artwork seems like a photoshop job with all the images used. Not my type of style for a comic book, and I didn't like looking at the images since I can get more enjoyment from artwork. The text in this issue was also very short and you feel like nothing is really added to this sin/character. You do get a little more info as to what happens, but so much more could of been added.
Art: 2/10
Story: 5/10
Issue 4: Lust
We have some great artwork, but only during the present time story pages. The flashback pages are done in a sketch type of drawing style that I didn't like. I can understand making the flashback story look different, but this style really annoyed me. The story made up for it though, since you get to see how John was beaten over Lust, and how his mother treated him. There is also a girl that tries to seduce John, but she ends up dead (I think by the mother, protecting John). The strong part of this issue is the story, since the artwork falls short in parts.
Art: 9/10 for present time, 5/10 for flashbacks
Story: 8/10
END SPOILERS:
Maybe by next week I can give a short review for Issue 5.

The numbers came out today for last month's sales, so I decided to make a list for the first four issues that have stats for them:
Issue #1 Gluttony: 5,006
Issue #2 Greed: 3,915
Issue #3 Sloth: 4,416
Issue #4 Lust: 4,480
Besides dropping on Issue 2, the mini-series is getting back the readers who started out on Issue 1. I was worried that the issues would drop month to month, but that doesn't seem the case.

Okay, my comic book store STILL hasn't recieved their copies. I checked Midtown, who I usually order from when my shop takes forever to get something and even they don't have it available. Ebay only has one or two auctions for Issue 5, which I might have to use if all else fails.
So, my question is this:
Anyone here who is reading this mini-series have any problems finding Issue 5 at their shop?
Was the print run for this low?
Are there more copies at Diamond for retailers to order?

Just read the final issue today. Glad to see the mini-series over, and boy did those delays really hurt. The final issue could have been better, but I guess you can't do much with the final sin that was already done in the movie. All of my mini-reviews are listed below.
SPOILERS BELOW:

Issue 5: Pride
This issue really clicked from beginning to end. The woman is one of those who you never feel sorry for, and in the end...she was given a choice. I laughed at the end of the issue like I do sometimes after seeing the scene in the movie. How someone can be so vain! But that's pride for you. Wink The artwork as very clean, and colorful. It had the comic book feel to it, not like some other issues that seem to go overboard with the dark tones or depressing artwork.

Issue 6: Envy
This issue was good for the background aspects of John Doe. Some parts were a bit boring, and I really wasn't happy to see little John Doe in the shower...Shocked The artwork was one of those styles that only impressed me in parts. I wish that one writer and one artist would had done all se7en issues, instead of the guest writer/artist mentality of the whole series. With this type of idea, it's hit and miss with the issues.

Issue 7: Wrath
It seems that a lot of mini-series have this problem...ending in a good way. Sure, the movie's telling of the final sin was much better (and a lot of that was reused in the comic), but I guess the writers couldn't come up with new back stories for Wrath besides what was decided upon for the issue. The artwork was horrible! I really couldn't stand the images, which made this a very quick read. I did like how they added a bit to the end of the story, but even that didn't seem right...it just didn't flow like it should have I guess.
