While at the conventions I do a lot of sketches that don't see print anywhere! They are drawn on the spot and whisked away to a private collection. I love it that these pieces are given a loving home, but they also need to be shared and enjoyed by everyone!
THAT'S WHAT THIS POST IS ALL ABOUT!
Every two weeks I"ll update the link below to display a different convention drawing! If you have one of my convention sketches, or even a full blown commission, send me a scan and I'll be sure share!

O.K... So I'm a little late with my sketch updates... I recently changed my internet hosting and wanted to get things all figured out before I made some more postings... All that is fine and dandy for me, but what about you...? You've waited and been patient and now it's time for me to make it up! To make it up to everyone I'm posting two really nice pieces! The first piece is a star wars piece for a private collector .. If you go to www.comicartfans.com" you know who! This was a simple b/w inked piece with some color work done ( yet again ) with chalk pastels! You know, it's funny... when I was quite little I had about 3 of those "burger chef" Darth Vader painted posters on my wall. ( Remember it..? Vader was purple!) It was a fairly abstract painting and of all the images of Darth Vader from my childhood, it has had the most resonance...
Piece #2 is just.. wow.. me being silly.. As a lot of you know , I have the best time doing this kinda piece. ( My second sketchbook, "Midnight's Children" has a similar piece that is a conversation between Catwoman and Talia with each comparing notes about what it's like to date batman ) I really enjoy how resigned Batman looks! Superman is just yakking away on his soap box. It's obvious that Batman has messed up and has to listen to his speech... AND IT'S ABOUT TIME, AS BATMAN CAN'T GET ENOUGH TO TELLING OTHER PEOPLE THEIR BUSINESS!
Hope you folks make it to San Diego next week! It's going to be a grand ol' time!
Interesting interresting
