I've only just discovered that, despite my disability, I *can* play PC games like Diablo II and Warcraft III. I'm not very good at either but I have fun regardless. I know nothing about the market so I'm hoping somebody here can help me with the following:

Are there any Marvel or DC-themed games that play like the two abovementioned games? If so, which are the best and about what can I expect to pay?

Cei-U!
I summon the cluelessness!

X-Men Legends II is the only and closest answer as far as PC games go. It's still not point and click though, it's an action RPG.

It's not Marvel or DC-themed, but City of Heroes/Villains does have a point-and-click interface. Might be worth a look.

Not Marvel or DC-Themed but Freedom Force (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/freedomforce/index.html) and its sequel Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/freedomforce3rdreich/index.html?q=freedom%20force) are both great homage games to the Silver Age (and in the case of the sequel, the Golden Age as well) of comics. Plus they have one of the most devoted skinning and modding communities online, and a rather open character editor, so you should be able to create just about any Marvel or DC character you can imagine.

X-Men Legends II was so-so. It had a lot of potential, but it quickly became repetitive – mainly because the generic enemies were so lame. Here is a review I wrote last year:

I second Freedom Force. I picked up the original at Wal-Mart for $12. It's one of the most fun games I've ever played. The best part if that your heroes can pick up cars, streetlights, etc. and use them as weapons :D As Grazzt noted, the game's community is very active. Someone even created an Iron Man-themed mod, complete with voiceovers and guest appearances from characters like War Machine.
