This one I actually know for sure.
Hillsfar. It was a simplified RPG released by SSI as part of their series of AD&D based games.
I can't for the life of me recall what attracted me to the game, but I remember really enjoying it.

Mine was a dungeons and dragons game for commodore64 I got from a toys r us. I forgot the name of it but it was hard as balls.
My first pirated game was zak mckracken and the alien mindbenders on the com64. I remember using hole puncher to put a notch on the other side of 5 1/4 floppies so I could copy on both sides of it from a friend.

It would have been some crap game for the Commodore 64. I had several and all were very unmemorable. The first game I had for it which I remember liking was a D&D game called "Pool of Radiance."
The first PC game I got for a real computer was Baldurs Gate back in 1999 or so. I loved that game and still enjoy playing it now and then.

SimCity 2000 back in 1994
I can't even recall.
Ones I can remember the most but I don't know if it was first or not
On the old Apple IIE.
Apple presents Apple - It was a game designed to teach you how to use various keys on the board and at the end you could "draw". Kind of like a week "Paint" program on a black and green screen.
There was Oregon Trail.
I had a very old Wolfenstein game. This was confusing as you had 9 keys for movement and 9 keys for aiming plus a fire button and a grenade button. Sometimes a SS Trooper would show up and the speakers would blare out so loud you couldn't understand it but it'd almost scare the crap out of me everytime.
A game called Star Blazer with a ship that flew in across the screen and you'd shoot or bomb stuff that flew by.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was an old game that was all text where you type in commands like "Get out of Bed" - pretty funny storyline.
No idea which of those was the first I played.

If we're counting games like that mine was probably that one where you had to do math to get to the top of a mountain or something like that.
Other then that, the first PC game I remember playing was The Curse of Monkey Island. To this day it's my favorite PC game.

Jane's Combat Simulations: USNF'97
Awesome!
I remember playing US Navy Fighters very frequently.
Another one of my favorite flight sims was the 1993 classic "Strike Commander" (made by the same team responsible for "Wing Commander"). It was brilliant.

I remember that game
But, if we're talking about real PC games (the ones that have explosions), then mine was Descent, Magic Carpet or Hardball '96. Those were the games that came with my first PC, though I can't remember which one I played first. I think Magic Carpet

Mate, "Pool of radiance" was GREAT!!! And so were the sequels-we (my geeky mates and me) played them right thru! Apart from the last one which I'd love to play!
My first game on the C64 was "The Last Ninja"...I also recall "Legend of Blacksilver"...top game. Probably my proudest moment in gaming was when I finished it. It was massive.

Probably "Moby" or "West 47" - basically games that taught you typing. In "Moby" you had to type in the correct letter at an increasingly fast rate or the whale would eat your boat. In "West 47" it was basically an Oregon Trail game in which you bought supplies and hunted for food. These were all on those really old monochrone, all-in-one machines that had no real hard drives and ran whatever disk you put in before turning it on.

A basketball program my uncle wrote is the real first, but Microleague Baseball would be the first commercial game.

Anybody else remember "Strike Commander"? It was awesome, it was like Privateer with F16s.
Not only was it a great video game, but it was possibly one of the best pieces of speculative fiction ever.

First PC game I ever played? Black Cauldron on a friend's Tandy. I think I was 6.
First game I ever owned? Bushbuck Charms: it was a geography-style game that was extremely similar to Carmen Sandiego. Then, it was Math Blaster and Oregon Trail. I think my mom was trying really hard to keep the computer for educational reasons. At least, until I got my hands on Wolfenstein 3-D and Out of This World...

Hamurabi:

I played this game on some old NEC or NCR pc way back in 1978. It was a game about managing grain stores in ancient Sumeria, deciding how much to use for planting new crops, how much to save and how much to feed to the people. By today's standards, it was primitive and boring. But as one of only two PC games around at that point (the other one involved nuclear submarines and WWIII) it was sort of fun.

The first ever game that I bought was California Games for my 286. The half-pipe and BMX stages were next to impossible for me. The next game I bought was the original Space Quest by Sierra which started my love affair with adventure games.
The first games that I ever played on my pc though, were probably copies of The Black Cauldron and Thexder both by Sierra. I was a real Sierra fan back in the day.

Yeah, the Sierra games were great fun in my Elementary school :)
*snaps fingers* Oh, Thexder! Now I remember why that sounded familiar!
I got that game later in life, but there was a glitch that made me keep transforming back and forth whenever I tried transforming. The game was fun, but that bug made things suck pretty bad in places, and eventually I gave up.
*goes searching*
The one I played was Thexder 95.
